In pasture, on a rise with views S to Mangerton Mountain. A circular area (36m E-W; c. 35m N-S) defined by a well-constructed stone wall (T c. 3m; int. H 1.4m; ext. H 1.3m), which is obscured by overgrowth NW-SE. The internal face of the wall is faced with a later drystone wall (T 0.55m; H 1.4m), some of which rests on the base of the cashel wall. A break (Wth c. 2m) may indicate the entrance at ENE and there is also a cattle break (Wth 1.5m) at N. The interior, in pasture, slopes down gently to the S and has a souterrain (KE067-038001-) in the N sector. Field-clearance rubble is piled externally along the E arc. In a cashel (KE067-038----). The souterrain is evident in the N half of the cashel as an uneven grassy area in which spaces between two large stones lead underground. In the 1940s, a stone stairway leading to an underground passage was noted here though the top portions of the stairway were described as having disappeared (ITA). According to local information, the passage extended to the W. The entrance has been closed with large stones for safety reasons. In pasture, on the S edge of a hillock with views SW to Mangerton Mountain. A raised circular area (26m E-W; 24m N-S) defined by a largely rebuilt stone wall (T 1.55m; int. H 1.05m; ext. H 1.1m) set on top of the remains of the cashel wall. A short stretch of wall extends outward from the E side of a break in the wall at SSE. Field boundaries abut the cashel wall at NW and NE. The grass-covered interior slopes down to the S and a pile of stones in the N quadrant may indicate a possible souterrain (KE067-051001-). According to local information, an oval pile (L 4.8m; Wth 4m; H 1.24m) of large stones and earth in the N half of the cashel indicates the location of a 'cave' which was blocked up. In level pasture, to the SW of a railway line. According to local information 'an underground cavern' containing water was revealed in the course of mechanical excavation in this area.
