In rough pasture, on a W-facing slope, with views to Macgillycuddy's Reeks. A raised circular area (diam. 20m) defined by a scarp (Wth 4m; H 1.55m), which is obscured by dense overgrowth. The interior slopes down to the SSW and its N half is densely covered with gorse and briars. In the S half of the interior are two grass-covered oval mounds (dims. of the larger mound: 2m E-W; 1.5m N-S; H 0.6m) of earth. In the 1940s it was recorded as a rath '60 feet [18.28m] in diameter with a circular fence 6 feet [1.82m] high on the outside and 10 feet 6 in [3.2m] wide at base [and] 5 feet [1.52m] wide at top' on Michael Carroll's land (Schools Manuscript, Co. In scrub-covered cutaway bog, sloping down slightly to the NE. Indicated as a circular stony area (diam. c. 15m) on the 1846 OS 6-inch map. A ring of twenty nine stones with another stone in the centre forming 'Cloca Breaca' were recorded in the 1940s (Schools Manuscript, Co. Kerry). The diameter of this circle was given as 35 feet [10.66m] and the dimensions of the stones being 2 feet 7 inches [0.77m] high by 2 feet 8 in [0.8m] in width and 1 foot 8 in [0.5m] in thickness (ibid.). A NE-SW humpback road bridge, of random rubble sandstone, spanning the Beheenagh River. Four semicircular arches with roughly shaped voussoirs, some of which are projecting. The two central arches are the largest (span c. 5m). The SW arch (span 3.5m) is dry. There is a low rounded cutwater with ornamental moulding on the upstream side of the central pier (Wth 1.2m) and a low pointed cutwater on the NE pier. The arches are underpinned with concrete and the parapets have concrete coping. Paving on the river-bed under the arches extends beyond the bridge on the downstream side. On the N side of a minor road. The random rubble front wall faces E and has a partly collapsed central recess (Wth 1.95m). There is a horizontal ledge across the front wall c. 2m above ground level. There is a truncated earthen ramp at the rear. The N side is revetted with stone, the S side is incorporated into a field boundary. There is a stone-lined funnel (diam. 1.8m).
