Located on the N side of a boggy ridge on the lower S slopes of Aghatubrid mountain, this megalithic tomb abuts a large area of rock outcrop titled 'Carrigaphuca' on the OS maps. It consists of a chamber, open to NW, and is covered by a single roof-stone. It is deeply buried in the boggy ground and its interior is frequently waterlogged. The NE side of the chamber is formed by two orthostats; that at SE is the larger and is .65m high, 1.55m long and .15m thick. A low orthostat occurs at right angles to the second side-stone and partly closes the chamber. A large, outwardly inclining slab forms the SW side; this is 1.8m long, c .5m thick and, if erect, would be c .75m high. One large slab forms the skewed rear of the chamber; it is .6m high, 1.62m long and .18m thick. The large, irregularly shaped cap-stone rests on the end-stone and on the two side-stones; it is 2m long, 2.5m wide and .35m in maximum thickness. A number of pre-bog walls occur in the immediate vicinity of the site. One runs the length of the entire slope, breaking only at the location of the tomb. Many of the walls have collapsed, but in general they survive up to 1m above the level of the bog. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 89. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Located in a forestry plantation, this standing stone is situated on a NE-SW ridge. It is roughly triangular in elevation and is 1.39m high and 1.1m wide at base, narrowing towards the top; E-W. The stone now leans heavily to N. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Internal diam. 22.5m N-S, 24m E-W Lissaphuca/Lios an Phúca: This oval-shaped rath is located in rough pasture just W of Kealnanachree stream, on the lower S slopes of Foilclogh. The external fosse is best preserved at N, where it is 1.5m deep below external ground level. It varies in width from 1.3m to 3.4m. The bank is fairly well-preserved, rising 2.5m on average from the base of the fosse. It falls 1.4m to the site's interior, and averages 2.3m wide. Intermittent stone facing occurs on both of its flanks, which have been damaged by livestock. A 4.3m wide gap at SE appears to represent the original entrance, though there is no corresponding causeway across the fosse at this point. The sloping interior of the site is covered in a dense growth of vegetation and features two distinct levels. The lower level slopes more strongly down to S. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 554.
