According to the OSL (Herity 2002, 34), '… there is a well called Lady Well, at which stations were performed on Lady-Day in Harvest', and Jackson (1979-80, 145) says a pattern was held here in August. At the W foot of a low hill, with a second holy well (KD002-003----) c. 500m to the SSW. The well is contained in a circular (int. diam. 1.5m), semi-subterranean, stone-built well-house (H 2.4m) which has a flat, concrete roof. A plain lintelled doorway (Wth 0.8m; H 1.3m) and steps at W give access. The well was dry on the day of the visit. On the NE bank of a small, NW-flowing tributary of the River Boyne, with a second holy well (KD002-002----) c. 500m to the NNE. A small bridge (built 1849) immediately to the W contains a short, curved section of wall which is believed locally to define the limits of the well. According to the OSL (Herity 2002, 34 (101)), the 'old graveyard (was) used as yet as a place of sepulture'. On a NE-facing pasture slope with a castle site (KD002-005----) c. 100m to the SW. An overgrown, triangular area (dims. L c. 26m along N; L c. 25m along E; L c. 35m along W) with a rounded apex to S and curving N-limits, is defined by a low, dry-stone wall, outside of which, along the N, a small tributary of the River Boyne flows NW. The interior is accessed through an iron gate on the E side and the oldest visible headstone is dated 1769. The burial ground appears to be disused.
