The rubble consists of roughly coursed, large undressed boulders of granite and limestone. FitzGerald recorded the tradition that this was a castle (FitzGerald 1903-5, 370), but it may also be the ruins of a seventeenth century house? Burial ground depicted on 25-inch OS map as a semi-circular shaped area bisected at N by a public road running E-W with church to N of road. No visible trace of burial ground to N of road. Corballis House 275m to S, Corballis Castle (KD038-047----) 310m to WNW. Burial ground described in 1838 as following; 'There was formerly here a graveyard, which fell into disuse and is now only traceable' (O'Flanagan 1927, 88). Fitzgerald (1903-05, 370-1) recorded that this site was used as a burial ground for unbaptised children and described the site as following; 'The land for some distance around is never tilled, as the building is said to have been a chapel (KD038-048----) in ancient times; and though no graves now exist, yet unbaptized children are interred here'. Detached single-bay (three-bay deep) single-storey gable-fronted forge, extant 1901, on a rectangular plan. Now in ruins. Pitched (gable-fronted) roof now missing with abbreviated red brick Running bond chimney stack, and no rainwater goods surviving on red brick header bond eaves. Coursed or snecked rubble granite walls with benchmark-inscribed cut-granite flush quoins to corners. Horseshoe-shaped carriageway with "nail hole"-detailed cut-granite surround. Square-headed window openings (side elevations) with cut-granite sills, and cut-granite lintels with no fittings surviving. Interior in ruins. Detached three-bay two-storey farmhouse, extant 1908, on a cruciform plan centred on single-bay single-storey gabled projecting porch to ground floor; single-bay (two-bay deep) two-storey central return (south). Refenestrated, ----. Pitched slate roof on a T-shaped plan; pitched (gabled) slate roof (porch), clay ridge tiles, repointed granite ashlar chimney stacks having beaded stringcourses below capping supporting terracotta pots, timber bargeboards to gables on timber purlins, and cast-iron rainwater goods with cast-iron octagonal or ogee hoppers and downpipes. Coursed rough cut granite walls with cut-granite flush quoins to corners. Square-headed window opening (porch) with cut-granite sill, and red brick block-and-start surround with cut-granite lintel framing replacement uPVC casement window.
