On a moderately steep N-facing slope in improved pasture. In 1985 a rectangular area (dims. L 46m E-W; traceable Wth 25m) was noted, defined on its E and W sides by broad, shallow fosses (Wth 3m along E, 6m along W; D 0.2-0.5m), by a high (H2m) scarp along the N, and by a graveyard (KD004-031003-) at S (SMR file). Land improvement has resulted in the levelling of the N scarp and the infilling of the fosses whose location is now indicated by an intermittent vegetation band. (CUCAP BDR 32 (1970)). According to Gilligan (1999, 44), in 1640 this church was referred to as 'Capella Sti Patritii de Killieghyery' - Chapel of St. Patrick of Killeighter. Its remains survive at the N end of a graveyard (KD004-031003-) which lies at the S end of a possible early ecclesiastical enclosure (KD004-031001-). A very poorly preserved rectangular structure (int. dims. L 15m WNW-ESE; Wth 4.4m) is defined by grassed-over, collapsed walling (Wth 1.9-3.4m; int. H 0.2-0.4m; ext. H 0.2-0.7m) with some original outer wall-facing stones visible at E. The interior contains 19th century headstones at the E end and cleared field stones are dumped on the W end. A drain (Wth 0.7m; D 0.6m) is dug outside the E wall to carry water from a Holy Well spring (KD004-031004-) to the S. On a moderately steep N-facing slope in improved pasture, immediately S, upslope, of a possible early ecclesiastical enclosure (KD004-031001-). A D-shaped area (int. diam. 32m E-W) with a straight W side (L 37m) is defined by a low, broad, earthen bank (Wth 1.1-2.7m; int. H 0.2-0.8m) which is faced externally by a well built, mortared stone wall (max. ext. H 1.9m; Wth 0.5m). The interior falls moderately steeply and contains a church (KD004-031002-), a holy well (KD004-031004-) and a holy tree (KD004-031005-) at its lower N end, and a possible children's burial ground (KD004-031006-) upslope to the S. Burials are formally arranged in plots and concentrated to the S of the church. Legible headstones date from the 19th century to the present day. A stock watering trough, fed from the Holy Well, abuts the external face of the graveyard wall at N. Located 6m to the S of a church (KD004-031002-) at the N end of a graveyard (KD004-031003-). Although not indicated on the 1st ed. (1838) of the OS 6-inch map its existence is mentioned in the OSL (Herity 2002, 30). According to Jackson (1979-80, 150) it was visited for headache cures but had no associated pattern, however O'Donoghue (1999, 171) records that it was visited traditionally on St Patricks day and was believed to cure eye ailments, and further, that it was 'refurbished' in 1993 using 'dressed stone' from the nearby church. The spring well occupies an oval area (int. diams. 2.8m E-W; 1.9m N-S; D 0.4m) defined by a mortared stone wall which does not rise above ground level, with three shallow steps leading down from the N. A culverted pipe runs N to feed a stock watering trough abutting the external face of the graveyard wall. A holy tree (KD004-031005-) stands immediately to the S. Located immediately to the S of a Holy Well (KD004-031004-) at the N end of a graveyard (KD004-031003-). Near the centre of a graveyard (KD004-031003-) and slightly upslope and to the S of more formally laid out grave plots. A few unworked, earthfast field stones, arranged in no definite pattern may mark the graves of children. The graveyard also contains a ruined church (KD004-031002-), a holy well (KD004-031004-), a holy tree (KD004-031005-) and there is a possible early ecclesiastical enclosure site (KD004-031001-) immediately outside to the N.
