- KD022-011: Church, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CKD022-011----. In the E-sector of a small roadside graveyard (KD022-011001-). Only the ivy clad, lower courses of portion of the E-gable wall survives (L 8m N-S; T 1.4m; H 1.1m) built of undressed fieldstones. Some 13.3m to the W, a drop in ground level (D1.8m) probably indicates the W-limits of the church, just beyond a modern graveplot, while two earthfast stones indicate the line of the S wall. On the roadside on a narrow terrace in the lower SW-slope of a moderately steep-sided hill. A possible tumbled coffin-rest (KD022-011002-) stands outside the entrance gate at SE, and the interior contains a much ruined church (KD022-011----) in the E sector. A small, slightly raised, oval area (diams. 32m N-S; 25m E-W; av. H 1m) is enclosed by a well-built, modern wall, built of thin stones. Burials cover the whole of the interior, the earliest legible inscriptions dating to the 18th century, and the graveyard is still in use. A small masonry pier or pillar (H 0.9m; L 0.5m; T 0.2m) attached to an entrance gate pier houses a small limestone stoup, concreted in place. The visible portion (dims. L 0.2m; Wth 0.2m; H 0.15m) contains a well-carved, water-filled, circular basin (diam. 0.13m; D 0.08m). Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 05 December 2011

On the roadside outside the entrance to a graveyard (KD022-011001-). Situated in grassland, on W facing slope of low ridge at base of Red Hill with Knavinstown church and graveyard 300m to W and Knavinstown House 190m to SW. Cropmark of large circular area (approx. diam. 58m) visible on Digital Globe aerial photograph and on earlier OSI aerial photographs. The field was ploughed around the winter of 2016 and skeletal material was identified in the plough soil in late September 2017. This material came from the interior of the cropmark enclosure which may indicate that the monument was a large barrow/ring-ditch. All that remains of this levelled monument is a slight rise of the ground which may indicate the curving line of the enclosure from SE-S only. The monument is not depicted on an any edition of the OS 6-inch map. However a field boundary running NE-SW depicted on the 1838 ed. OS 6-inch map and now levelled kicks out in a semi-circular fashion at the location of the cropmark.
