Towards the N end of a small triangular-shaped graveyard (KD023-003001-). The surviving upstanding remains comprise the E and W gable walls of a rectangular structure (int dims. 11.6m E-W; 5.7m N-S), built of uncoursed mortared limestone flags and boulders, with granite quoins and mouldings. The E gable wall contains the remains of a robbed-out three-light window, while the window in the W gable wall has three very narrow lancets with granite mouldings, round heads, small external pointed hoods and pointed rubble rear arches. The N and S sidewalls are traceable as grassed-over foundation lines. The church may date to the 14th-century. In level pasture overlooking Pollardstown Fen to the NNE. A roadside graveyard, triangular in shape (est. max. dims. c. 55m ESE-WNW; c. 45m N-S) is enclosed by a well-preserved stone wall with entrance gate and adjacent stone steps at E end of S (roadside) wall. A disused boithrín runs NW from the road along the E side of the graveyard. An earthen bank (int. H 0.4m; Wth 1.9m; ext. H 1.5m) and outer, flat-bottomed fosse (Wth 2.7m; D 0.3m) runs inside and parallel to the graveyard's S wall: the bank continues to run on inside the E wall (int. H 0.4m; Wth 0.9m; ext. H 0.2m), but is faced externally by the wall, with the area outside occupied by the boithrín which may run along the line of an earlier fosse? There is a gap (Wth 5m) in this bank, together with a short in-turning, opposite the E gable wall of the church (KD023-003----) which located in the N portion of the graveyard, but there no obvious corresponding entrance gap in the wall outside. Burials occur to the S of the church, and legible grave markers date from the 18th to the 20th-century. No longer in use. On a narrow gravel ridge and levelled in the course of gravel extraction. A rougly circular (est. ext. diam. c. 80m), raised area was enclosed by an earthen bank, a deep external fosse and a second, outer bank. Limited archaeological excavation (Fanning 1973-4, 251-61) produced iron objects (including horseshoe nails, blades, an arrowhead, a buckle and a stirrup) which were interpreted as suggesting the monument was constructed and occupied between the 12th and 14th-century; although it was acknowledged that several finds might date to the 15th-century. While both Fanning (op. cit.) and O'Conor (1998, 35) interpret the monument as a possible ringwork castle, Fitzpatrick (2009, 282) argues that this interpretation ignores the possibility of the native Irish occupying a rath and sharing the material culture of the colonist, or, of incoming manorial tenants occupying an existing rath.
