Detached circular plan two-storey local authority house, built c.1955, with two-storey annexe to rear. Conical clay tiles roof with circular rendered chimneystack, exposed rafter feet and cast-iron rainwater goods. Pebbledash rendered walling and smooth rendered plinth course. Series of diminutive square-headed window openings to ground and first floors to both east and west elevations, having patent rendered reveals and continuous concrete sill courses. Timber casement windows to first floor and uPVC to ground floor. Painted brick porch, concrete canopy with square-headed door opening with replacement hardwood glazed door. Door opens onto concrete path with circular garden enclosed by pebbledash rendered wall, two concrete piers with steel pedestrian gate.
- Portlaoise Garda Síochána Station, barracks, 1800–1840, Regional interest, registry number 12506160, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=LA&regno=12506160. Detached nine-bay two-storey limestone former military barracks, built c. 1808, now in use as Garda station. Composed of five bays, flanked by two-bay advanced projections with lean-to porch between. Hipped slate roof, black clay ridge tiles with a pair of large limestone and brick chimneystacks. Cast-iron rainwater goods to limestone eaves course. Rough-hewn limestone walling with tooled limestone ashlar quoins and plinth course and continuous sill course, cement strap-pointing. Square-headed window openings formed in yellow brick with limestone sills and uPVC windows. Central square-headed door opening with limestone ashlar block-and-start surround. Replacement hardwood vertically-sheeted door and granite threshold stone. Six cast-iron Doric columns on shallow painted stone bases supporting lean-to canopy with upvc gutter and tongue-and-groove timber soffit. Hardscaped and tarmacadam to all four sides enclosed by tall coursed rough-hewn limestone wall with cement coping and arched entrance to east (sec Reg. Nos. 12506348, 12506349, 12506163). Yellowbrick two-storey extension attached to rear c.1980.
- Portlaoise Garda Síochána Station, sports hall/centre/gymnasium, 1900–1920, Regional interest, registry number 12506162, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=LA&regno=12506162. Detached multi-bay two-storey gymnasium, built c.1910, now disused. Pitched roof with original red synthetic tiles and terracotta ridge tiles, to single-storey section, raised ventilation ridge to two-storey section with timber louvres. Cast-iron rainwater goods to exposed timber rafter fact. Machine-made red brick walling laid in English garden wall bond. Coursed rough-hewn limestone wall to north and west below first floor sill level and concrete base. Square-headed window openings, concrete sills, some multi-pane steel windows, some boarded up. Square-headed door opening with double-leaf vertically-sheeted timber doors.

Attached limestone vehicular entrance, flanked by pedestrian gates, dated 1832. Round-headed voussoired limestone ashlar opening with impost mouldings and plinth course, flanked by pair of projecting piers all surrounded by plain stepped blocking cornice and parapet over. Replacement steel gates and chrome raised lettering to parapet block "GARDA". Squared limestone rubble walls to either side with flat-headed pedestrian gates with dressed ashlar surrounds with replacement doors.

Attached single-bay single-storey former guard house, dated 1832, attached to north of entrance to former military barracks, set behind screen wall with pair of lean-to structures to either end, now part of Garda station. Coursed rough-hewn limestone walling with tooled flush quoins, cement render to lean-to's and gables. Elliptical-headed recess to west elevation containing square-headed window opening formed in yellow brick having six-over-six timber sash window with convex horns and limestone sill. Square-headed pedestrian entrance gate opening to east elevation with tooled limestone ashlar surround and plain blocking cornice over, with timber panelled door and limestone threshold stone. uPVC window to attic storey to south gable, and uPVC to south lean-to. Tripartite timber sash window to north lean-to c.2000.

Attached single-bay single-storey guard house with short screen wall containing stone doorcase attached to gateway, dated 1932, with stone and brick lean-to to north gable, built c. 1950. Pitched artificial slate roof, synthetic ridge tiles, limestone ashlar fractable, cast-iron rainwater goods on limestone eaves course. Coursed rough-hewn limestone walling. To west elevation a recessed elliptical-headed arch with voussoired limestone containing a square-headed window opening formed in yellow brick with limestone sill, uPVC window. Round-headed window opening to lean-to with hardwood multi-pane window, concrete sill and red brick wall below. Red brick wall to north side of lean-to with hardwood window and door. Square-headed door opening to screen wall, now blocked with cement render, having limestone ashlar doorcase with plain limestone plat band cornice and plain limestone panel over.
