Marked only on the 1910 ed. of the OS 6-inch map c. 30m N of the site of a house. It is situated on a gentle E-facing slope with a small S-N stream immediately to the E. No feature is visible at ground level. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). This nineteenth century three-roomed single storey farmhouse, close to Kiltyclogher, was the childhood home of Sean Mac Diarmada, who was a signatory of the 1916 proclamation and was executed on 12th May, 1916. The house is a conserved national monument in the ownership of the State, National Monument No. 508. At an abandoned farmstead on a slight W-facing slope in forestry. Recorded by the Leitrim Sweathouse Project as built into an E-W field boundary. The boundary (Wth 1.2m) broadens (Wth 3.95m) at the location of the sweathouse which survives as a collapsed, drystone, circular chamber (diams. 1.6m E-W; c.1.5m N-S) with an opening (Wth 1.5m) facing NNW. Stonework is visible internally (int. H 0.6m at E; wall T c.0.9m). The site is obscured by trees growing within and on the walls and the whole structure is covered by a fallen tree which lies across it. See attachment: LE009-010----_1 Sketch plan of sweathouse. Situated on heather covered bog in upland area with good views of Lough Macnean to the E. This is an area where the landcover is dominated by blanket bog and heath. Large irregular shaped boulder with three basins (diam. 0.16m x 0.15m: diam. 0.14m x D 0.14m: diam. 0.2m x 0.2m) on its surface, the last basin is situated on the edge of the rock. This rock is sitting on top of another stone which also has a basin (diam. 0.2m x D 0.2m) directly underneath in fact it is in line with the basin above which is situated on the edge of the rock. Nearby bullauns (LE009-011001-; LE009-011----) are located 190m and 250m to the SE respectively. This feature may have been caused by natural erosion of the carboniferous sandstone and may not be the result of human activity. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 29 January, 2016

Situated on high heather covered boggy ground with good views of Lough Macnean to the E .This is an area where the landcover is dominated by blanket bog and heath. Located immediately to the E of the possible bullaun stone (LE009-012----), present remains consist of several low orthostats that are protruding above the surface of the heather-covered bog. These low orthostats appear to be forming an irregular shape with a possible mound inside. These othorstats may be kerbing of a low cairn or mound or may be the remains of a robbed-out cairn or some form of possible megalithic structure. It is more likely however, because the low upright stones are not set into deep sockets, that it may be some form of turf stand associated with turf cutting that was being carried out in the immediate vicinity of this structure.
