Located in a fold on a broad plateau that slopes down gently to the SE. An area of c. 6ha (c. 27 acres) of exposed karst and grass contains about 30 structures. It was first discovered and recorded by L. McConville in 1998. Eight of the structures are circular (int. diam. 2.5-7.5m) defined by grass-covered stone spreads (Wth 1-2m) and these are probably prehistoric in date. The other structures are largely post-medieval rectangular booley huts (int. dims c. 3-4m x 1.5-2m) and are generally aligned NW-SE, across the contours of the slope. Located on a W-E spur with in the valley of a small W-E stream which is c. 120m to the S, and overlooking Lough Glenade. This is a subcircular grass-covered area (dims 20.5m E-W; 18m N-S) defined by a scarp (max. H 0.25m at NE to 0.5m generally). Situated on a steep E-facing slope with limestone outcrop and overlooking Lough Glenade. An oval cairn (dims c. 12m NW-SE; c. 10m NE-SW; H 0.6m) contains a two-chambered gallery (dims 6.67m NW-SE; 2.4m NE-SW) divided by jambstones. The entrance (Wth 0.6m), flanked by limestone uprights, leads to a semicircular orthostatic court (dims 5.85m NE-SW; 1.4m NW-SE) at the SE end of the cairn. A parcel is the land of a title, not an address. The owner's name is in the Land Registry of Tailte Éireann: a copy of the folio can be ordered on landdirect.ie, for a fee; this site names no owner. A price is the price recorded for a past sale, not a valuation.
