Located on a slight E-W ridge on the lower S-facing slope of Dough Mountain with a NE-SW section of a mountain stream c. 70m to the NW. It is described as ‘Lissinagroagh’ in gothic lettering on the 1910 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. This is an overgrown subcircular area (int. dims 17.7m E-W; 15.4m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 5-6m; int. H 0.2-0.8m; ext. H 1.5-3m) with an outer fosse (Wth of base 2-3m; ext. D 0.5-1.2m), which is partly rock-cut at E, but defined by an external bank (Wth 5-6m; max. ext. H 1.8m) SE-W. The external bank is not completed elsewhere. There is an entrance (Wth 2m) through the inner bank at NE and the souterrain (LE008-023002-) is in the NE part of the interior. An L-shaped souterrain (total L 7m plus) is visible as two collapsed sections of underground passage, possibly with a beehive chamber at the angle, within the NE quadrant of rath (LE008-023001--). Depicted as a circular ring of trees but described as a 'fort' on the 1835 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, it is located on a slight rise on a W-facing slope. c. 120m SW of house described on the 1910 ed. of the 6-inch map as Lisnagroth Lodge. This is a circular area (int. diam. 16m) planted with mature deciduous trees, defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 2.5m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.9m), which is separated by a fosse (Wth 2.2m; D 0.25m) from an outer bank (Wth 2m; ext. H 1.1m) and slight outer fosse (Wth 1m; D 0.2m). It is probably a tree-ring. Detached three-bay two-storey over raised basement country house, built c.1740, with return to rear. Hipped slate roof with rendered chimneystacks and cast-iron rainwater goods. Rendered walls with stucco quoins. Timber sash windows and tooled limestone sills. Segmental-headed door opening with replacement uPVC door, fanlight and sidelights. Replacement concrete steps to entrance. Outbuildings to rear of site.
- Worker's house, 1840–1880, Regional interest, registry number 30912003, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=LE&regno=30912003. Detached two-bay single-storey with attic former railway house, built c.1860, with lean-to entrance porch to south. No longer in use. Pitched slate roof with ashlar chimneystacks and bracketed eaves. Painted cut limestone walls. Timber sash windows and stone sills. Replacement timber and glazing door. Enclosed yard to rear of site with sheds. Positioned at a former level crossing on the Sligo, Leitrim & Northern Counties Railway line.
