This is traditionally thought to have been used by Franciscan friars for the celebration of mass in the 17th or 18th century, and it is known as Clogh na hAltora – the altar-stone (Clancy and Forde 1980, 31-2). Situated on a steep SE-facing slope and on the NW bank of a NE-WW section of a stream. It is marked only on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map with houses c. 100m to the W and SW. A collapsed rubble mound (diam. c. 3m; H c. 1m) shows traces of revetting for the chamber, but the entrance has collapsed.
