In undulating pasture, at foot of N-facing slope. Circular area (diam. c. 30m E-W) enclosed by two concentric earthen banks and an external fosse. Entire enclosure is covered by dense overgrowth. Inner bank (int. H 0.9m; ext. H 1.9m) survives its full circuit but outer bank (int. H 2.6m) and external fosse (D 1.7m; Wth 2.4m) replaced by field boundary WNW->SE. Extending SW from edge of enclosure in low linear bank (H 0.25m; Wth 4m) travelling 14m before turning at right angle to NW and running a further 4m before petering out. Inscribed limestone date plaque to north elevation of tower. Square-headed openings with concrete sills and surrounds throughout. Three-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows to north and east elevations. Replacement uPVC windows to other elevations. Pointed arch openings to east and west elevations of double-height block having louvered vents. Square-headed opening to front elevation with render surround, double-leaf half-glazed timber panelled door having cantilevered canopy overhead and coursed roughly-dressed limestone windbreak. Square-headed openings to front elevation having concrete sills and two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed openings to front elevation with timber battened doors and overlights. Rendered boundary wall with render coping and single-leaf metal gate to north of building.

Freestanding cast-iron water pump, erected c. 1870, with cylindrical shaft having banding and height marker to neck.
