OSi 6-inch map as a circular-shaped area enclosed by a bank, intersected at N and S by post-1700 field boundaries running N-S. Shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a partially levelled monument consisting of an irregular-shaped area (dims. c. 18m NW-SE) defined by a scarp and delimited at SE by a drainage channel running NE-SW. On this map a 'Draw Well' is depicted immediately to W of earthwork. In 1840 the Ordnance Survey recorded this monument as one of ‘three forts’ in the townland (OSNB Abbeyfeale to Bruree, 1275). Monument visible as a D-shaped cropmark delimited at E by a field boundary on OSi orthophotograph taken between 2005-12 and on Google Earth orthoimage dated 24/06/2018.
