Westropp (1906-7, 193) recorded the following details about Ardskeagh Castle in the townland of Brickfield (Baile an Bhaoilligh) or Kilbigley; 'Ardskeagh C[astle]. in Kyllbyggeley (Peyton, p. 238)'.
