Dry-stone wall ((H 1.05m; Wth 0.8m) forming townland boundary runs along top of bank N->E. Gap (Wth 2.2m) in bank at ESE. Bank lowers (H 0.35m) SE->S. Uneven interior, covered with trees and bushes, slopes gently down to the E; near S verge 2 roughly parallel (c. 2.15m apart) lines of stones are singly set edge to edge on rough N-S axis for c. 4m. Walled garden to rear of house. No evident trace of medieval castle and it is doubtful, despite the name, if there ever was a castle here (Westropp 1906-7, 158).
