The present 19th-century road bridge may have been built on the site of the medieval bridge that is depicted on the 17th-century Down Survey map of the Barony of North Liberties (Hib. Reg.; BL Add MS 72870/14). Present day road bridge described by the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage as a ‘Single-arched humpback road bridge, built c. 1800, over the River Crompaun or Meelick Creek.
