On a NW-facing slope, in pasture, c. 50m to E of a stream. Identified by Tracy Collins in 2006 during test trenching (Road Scheme Reg. No. E2320; Ministerial Direction No. A026) prior to the construction of the Southern Limerick Ring-Road and excavated by Aidan Harte in the same year as part of Gardenhill Site 1 (Harte 2009, 325). Located c. 90m to W of miscellaneous excavation (LI006-089002-). A subcircular-shaped pit (0.75m NW-SE; 0.65m NE-SW; D 0.12m) contained several fills including one that contained charcoal and burnt bone (Harte 2009, 325). Identified by Tracy Collins in 2006 during test trenching prior to the construction of the Southern Limerick Ring-Road and excavated (NRA Reg. No. E2320) in the same year by Aidan Harte as part of Gardenhill Site 1 (Harte 2009, 325). Three pits were located c. 35m to E of the cremation pit (LI006-098001-). One of these was a substantial oval-shaped pit (1.8m N-S; D 0.52m), which contained a single brown fill. A second pit (covered by a stone lintel) and four possible post-holes were spread sparsely across the area to NE. Two further pits at the extreme NE were found to be coeval yet no clear function could be deciphered from their fills. All finds from this area suggest a post-medieval date. On low-lying ground, on a gentle W-facing slope, in pasture, c. 15m to E of a stream. Not depicted on OS historic mapping. Identified by Tracy Collins in 2006 during test trenching (Ministerial Direction Order A026, NRA Reg. No. E2320) prior to the construction of the Southern Limerick Ring-Road and excavated by Aidan Harte in the same year as part of Gardenhill Site 2 (Harte 2009, 325). Located c. 35m to W of cremation pit (LI006-089001-). A subcircular-shaped spread of burnt material (10.53m N-S; 8.42m E-W; max. D 0.51m) which overlay a trough and a possible hearth platform (Hart 2009, 325). The irregular-shaped trough (1.8m N-S; 1.3m E-W; 0.25m) was filled with burnt stony material similar to that of the main spread. On the N side, underneath the main spread, was a curvilinear horseshoe-shaped cut. This may have provided clean clay with which to raise the area within. Approximately 1m to NW of the curvilinear cut, was an area of large red sandstones, similar to that found within the trough. A small deposit of burnt material was found adjacent to these stones. Detached three-bay two-storey L-plan house, built c. 1820. Hipped slate roof having lined-and-ruled rendered chimneystacks and overhanging eaves with timber brackets. Lined-and-ruled rendered walls. Square-headed openings with limestone sills and six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed openings to rear (south-east) elevation having two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Segmental-headed opening with spoked fanlight over timber panelled door having flanking sidelights with timber risers. Tiled threshold to entrance. Square-headed opening to rear having double-leaf half-glazed timber panelled door. Multiple-bay single-storey outbuilding to south-east having half-hipped artificial slate roof. Roughcast rendered walls. Square-headed openings with timber casement windows and concrete sills. Square-headed openings having overlights over timber battened doors. Rendered walled garden to north-east with square-headed door opening having brick lintel and metal gate. Pair of square-profile render over stone piers to south-west having limestone caps and double-leaf, spear-headed cast-iron gates with pebbledash boundary walls having limestone cappings.
