However, according to the OS Letter Books (O'Flanagan 1929, 42) this was the site 'of the old Church of this Parish' (Aglishcormick) though 'not a vestige now remains.' According to Westropp (1904-5, 455) the church was called 'Roilig Choluimcille, or Teampul na Cairrge'. Holy well (LI024-010003-) c. 50m to W. Site described in 1840 as following; 'a very short distance south west of a rock called Carraig Choluim, there is a small burial ground now (almost) entirely out of use, called by the people variously, Roilig Choluim Cille, Teampull na Cairrge and Teampull Pairc na Cairrge. There is no sign of the walls of an old church' (OSL, 41). Along W side are some low upright stone that may be uninscriber burial markers. Dry stone wall field boundary defines N-side and area open to S. Entire area of monument is heavily poached by cattle. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map as a rectangular-shaped tree-planted enclosure (approx. dims. 28m NW-SE; 23m NE-SW) and not as an antiquity. Not depicted on the 1897 ed. OS 25-inch map, where the area is bisected by a linear field boundary running NNW-SSE. Possible monument identified as a semicircular-shaped earthwork by the Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 119: AP 4/3719). Visible as a semicircular-shaped earthwork (35m ENE-WSW; 27m NNW-SSE), to the E side of a field boundary, on Digital Globe orthophotos taken 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimages taken 18/11/2018. There is no visible trace of the earthwork on the WSW side of the field boundary. Possibly a tree-plantation of post-1700 date as depicted on the 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map.
