In level area at rear of dwelling with views moderate in all directions, 32m E of townland boundary with Cloghnamana. A barrow (LI022-133----) lies 294m to NE. Surveyed by the ASI in 2000, and described as a raised circular-shaped area (16m N-S; 17m E-W ) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 5.75m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1.6m) with two modern ramps giving access to interior at N (Wth 1.7m) and at ESE (Wth 5.5m). Possible disturbance along edge of site from E to W with earth dumped obscuring view. The monument is visible overgrown with trees on the OSi orthophotos 2005-2012, Digital Globe orthoimages 2011-2013 and Google Earth orthoimage taken in 2018. Comprises a circular, saucer-shaped area (diam. 30m) which is enclosed by an external bank (Wth 7m, H 2m) and internal ditch (Wth 10m, D. 0.5m) giving the monument an overall diameter of c. 70m. There is a waterlogged area in the SE which coincides with a break in the enclosing bank. There is another break in the bank in the N which coincides with a causeway in the ditch (O'Kelly, 1942, 90). This church owned glebe land was tentatively identified by the SMR as a possible monastic grange (SMR File; GSIAP 449/450). Monument is visible as a vague trace of two linear cropmarks which may define the NE and SE sides of a rectangular-shaped earthwork with the road marking a third side to SW and open to NW as best seen on Google Earth orthoimage taken 05/04/2006. Two other linear cropmarks running NE-SW are parallel to SE.
