On a low rise in pasture. A raised circular area (diam. 37m) enclosed by a substantial bank of earth and stone (Wth 5.3-5.7m; H 1.25-1.55m) with an intervening fosse (Wth 6.1m; D 0.1-0.85m), which has been infilled from NNE–E-ESE, and an outer bank (Wth 4.6-5.3m; H 0.6-1.6m) from ESE–S–SW and from NW–NNW–N. A modern field drain is evident at the external base of the outer bank. A break in the inner bank at ENE probably marks the original entrance. Compiled by: Patrick F. On a prominent rise in pasture. A raised oval area (46.5m NNW–SSE; 40.5m ENE–WSW) enclosed by two low banks of earth and stone with a shallow, partially waterlogged, intervening fosse. The inner bank (Wth 3.8-5m; H 0.4-0.7m) is not visible from E–SE–S due to the dumping of farm refuse. The fosse (Wth 5-6.8m; D 0.2-0.6m) is identifiable at SSE and from NW–NNW–N. The outer bank (Wth 4m; H 0.8m) only survives at N. The original entrance is not recognisable. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 22 November 2011 - LF011-042: Ringfort - rath, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CLF011-042----. On a SW-facing slope in pasture. A raised circular area (diam. 28.4m) enclosed by a low bank of earth and stone (Wth 5.1m; H 0.1-0.45m). From WSW–N–ENE the circuit of the bank has been straightened and its outer face has been incorporated into a field boundary. A large mound of earth has been piled up against it from N–NE–ENE. At the external base of the bank from ENE–E–S a modern laneway obscures any evidence of a fosse. A report in 1975 (SMR file) suggested that the original entrance may have been at E but this feature is no longer identifiable. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 22 November 2011 Works at or in relation to a recorded monument need two months' written notice to the National Monuments Service (National Monuments (Amendment) Act 1994, section 12). ## Architectural heritage (National Inventory of Architectural Heritage) No building of the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage stands in the townland of Aghabrack. ## Ground and risks (Radon Risk Map of Ireland, EPA; Landslide Susceptibility Classification and LiDAR, Geological Survey Ireland) - Radon: About 1 in 20 homes in this area is likely to have high radon levels.
