On a gentle W-facing slope in pasture. A circular area (diam. c. 32m) enclosed from ENE-E-S by a low bank of earth and stone (Wth 3.8m; H 0.4m). Elsewhere the outline is defined by modern field boundaries. The original entrance is not recognisable. A report in 1976 (SMR file) noted the presence of a shallow external fosse. On a low rise on a W-facing slope. This rath has been largely levelled. Extant remains comprise a raised circular area (diam. c. 50m) enclosed from E-SE-S by a wide low bank of earth and stone (Wth 5m; max. H 0.2m). Elsewhere the delimiting element is a poorly defined, low scarp. There is no trace of a fosse and the original entrance is not recognisable. Compiled by: Patrick F. - House, 1780–1820, Regional interest, registry number 13401905, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=LF&regno=13401905. Detached four-bay single-storey vernacular house, built c. 1800, having windbreak to front elevation (south) and single-bay single-storey shed/outbuilding attached to the east gable end. Now disused. Pitched corrugated-asbestos roof with two rendered chimneystacks and cast-iron rainwater goods. Flat-roof to windbreak with rendered coping and cornice. Roughcast rendered walls over smooth rendered plinth course. Square-headed window openings with concrete sills and two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed door opening to windbreak porch having replacement sheet plywood door. Attached outbuilding to east elevation having random rubble limestone walls and corrugated-metal roof. Set in own grounds and aligned at a right-angle to road alignment. Gateway to the east comprising a pair of rendered gate piers (on square-plan) and a pair of hooped wrought-iron flat bar gates. Located in the rural landscape a short distance to the north of Ardagh.
