On a low rise in pasture. Depicted on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a rectangular enclosure, aligned NE-SW, with the designation 'Fort'. A report in 1986 (SMR file) recorded that only the NE (L 28m) and SE (L 35m) sides survived, both defined by an earthen bank. Traces of a fosse were evident along the SE side. The SW and NW sides had been levelled. Further levelling has since occurred and the monument is not visible at ground level. Compiled by: Patrick F. On a low rise in pasture. A report in 1975 (SMR file) recorded a raised circular area (diam. c. 39m) enclosed by a low bank of earth and stone with a shallow external fosse. The W half had been destroyed due to the construction of a modern roadway and the original entrance was not recognisable. The rest of it has since been levelled but variations in the grass cover clearly indicate its outline. Compiled by: Patrick F. A parcel is the land of a title, not an address. The owner's name is in the Land Registry of Tailte Éireann: a copy of the folio can be ordered on landdirect.ie, for a fee; this site names no owner. A price is the price recorded for a past sale, not a valuation.
