Named ‘Castle of Keillen’ on the OS Fair Plan. It may be the site of a house recorded by Nicholas Dowdall, in 1682, as ‘George Cunningham Esqr. Hath built a fair house at Killinlosorogh which signifies a flaming wood’ (Gillespie and Moran 1991, 210). The house has been levelled and no visible surface trace survives. The site is now partially occupied by a roadway and a farmyard. Detached multiple-bay two-storey mill complex, built c. 1800 and extended c. 1860. Now out of use and overgrown. Pitched corrugated-metal roof. Coursed rubble limestone masonry walls, partially rendered. Square-headed window and door openings, original fittings. Remains of mill wheel (c. 12 feet in diameter) to west elevation comprising metal composite wheel. Gable-end facing road. Single-storey ancillary structures to site having rubble stone walls and pitched natural slate and corrugated-metal roofs. Former millrace runs southeast-northwest to the west side of the main mill building. Former mill pond to the east, now dry.
