A raised circular area (diam. 26m) enclosed by a bank of earth and stone (Wth 4m; H 0.5-0.9m) with a wide, shallow, external fosse (Wth 5.8-6.4m; D 0.45-1m). A circular area (diam. c. 25.5m) is defined by a low scarp from SE-NW; elsewhere it has been levelled. It is divided into roughly equal portions by a modern NW-SE field boundary. - Bridge, 1840–1880, Regional interest, registry number 13400915, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=LF&regno=13400915. Single-arch road bridge over the Camlin River, built c. 1860. Constructed of coursed rock-faced limestone with rounded dressed limestone coping over parapet walls. Bridge largely overgrown with ivy. Terminating piers to either side of arch having splayed bases and with dressed coping over. Segmental-headed arch with rock-faced limestone voussoirs having dressed V-jointed dressed margins. Squared coursed dressed limestone to barrel and abutments. Skewed construction to barrel. Rubble stone wing walls to either end of bridge (north and south). Rock-faced string course to base of piers, possibly extending across bridge at road/deck level (overgrown). Located to the southwest of Ballinalee.
