In pasture, prominently sited on a rise, commanding excellent views over the surrounding lowlying, damp grassland and along the valley of the Gweestion River which is located 200m to N. Raised circular platform (29.3m N−S; 32m E−W) defined by a substantial scarp (H 2.4m at SW; c. 3m at NE; Wth slope 4.5-5m) and enclosed by a well-defined fosse (Wth 4m at SW) with a substantial external bank (Wth c. 5m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 2.4m at SW). At N−E the fosse takes the form of a terrace (Wth 3.5m) cut into the natural slope and the outer bank is reduced to a scarp (H 1.75m). The steep sides of the platform and external bank are enhanced by the natural fall of ground, particularly at N−E. A broad slumped area/gap (Wth 4.3m) in the enclosing scarp at ESE indicates an original entrance, with stones protruding randomly from the terminals of the scarp on either side. It opens onto a low causeway (Wth 2-2.5m) across the fosse and a corresponding gap (Wth 1.2m) in the outer bank. A low roughly circular grass-covered rise (diam. c. 6-6.5m; H 0.3m at W; 0.6-0.8m at NW-N), gently domed in profile, is located slightly to NE of centre in the rath interior. Its significance is uncertain. Immediately to NE, ground level in the NE quadrant of the interior sloping down gently towards the rath scarp. The interior is grassy, with some scrub and brambles; the enclosing scarp and the outer bank are ringed with beech trees. There are hawthorn and ash trees on the W arc of the scarp. In average pasture, prominently sited on a rise, with excellent views in all directions over rolling grassland and expanses of lowlying damp ground. There is a stream/drain c. 175m to E, and another c. 200m to W. This bivallate rath consists of a circular platform (27m N−S; 23.6m E−W) defined by a substantial earthen scarp (1.5m at W, 1.6m at E; Wth slope 2.5-3m), at the base of which it is encircled by a fosse with remnants of an external bank. Stone protrudes from the scarp in parts, especially at E and S, possibly the remnants of a stone facing. The fosse is evident as a shallow depression (Wth c. 3.5m) at S−W, becoming more terrace-like at NW; it is truncated by an old quarry pit at NW−N; it is not visible at N−NE, and can be traced as a very slight surface depression at NE−SE. Remnants of the outer bank are visible at SW−W as a broad low rise (Wth 4.5-5m), with its external slope merging with the natural fall of ground (H c. 2m). A slight hint of the external bank is also evident at E−SE. The interior slopes down gently from S to N. A very slight surface dip or depression (Wth c. 2m) extends from the scarp at SE into the interior for c. 3m). There is a slump or depression in the N part of the interior, with a slumped and eroded section of the scarp immediately to N of it. A field fence on a N−S axis crosses the rath to E of centre. The interior is under grass, with hawthorn and blackthorn on scarp at S−SW. There is an old grassed-over quarry pit (diam. 10-12m) c. 10m S of the rath. In rolling pasture, located on a low rise, with good views, especially to NW−NE. This bivallate rath consists of a raised circular area (35.5m E−W; 36.9m N−S) defined by a substantial earthen bank, and enclosed by a fosse with slight remnants of an external bank. The inner bank (Wth 6.3m at N, 9.8m at S; int. H 1.1m at N, 1.6m at S; ext. H 1.8m at N, 3.3m at S) is best preserved at SSE−W. It has a broad internal slump which gives the rath a slightly dished profile. The fosse is evident as a broad shallow depression (Wth 4.5-5m at N) at W−NE, but is barely discernible elsewhere. The external bank has been levelled but its ephemeral outline can still be traced in parts; it has been truncated at E−SE by an avenue leading N to Barleyhill House. The interior is level. In a thicket of blackthorn, located on a rise in an area of average to wettish pasture, intermixed with wet and boggy hollows. There is gently rising ground to SE, and ground falls away gently to WNW to an area of damp pasture. Circular platform (diam. 25-30m) defined by a stony scarp (0.9m at SW, 1.5m at NNW, 0.6m at N). The scarp retains a slight stony internal lip at NW, with stone protruding randomly from the external slope and is cut quite vertically; it is thickly ringed with hawthorn. The interior appears to be level, but except for the SE quadrant, is engulfed in impenetrable blackthorn and cannot be examined. A field wall on a WNW−ESE axis crosses the S edge of the rath. In pasture, located on a rise, utilising the slope at N−E. There are very good views in all directions over lowlying undulating wet-average grassland, with an expanse of bog to E. There is a derelict vernacular farmstead immediately to NE. Roughly circular platform (c. 26m N−S; 26m E−W) defined by a scarp (H 1.8m at NNE; 1.2m at S). The scarp remains relatively well preserved, with a steep external slope at N−ESE. It is partly quarried out at SE, and a small drystone shed is built against it at SSE. It is levelled at SSW−NW and partly dug away at NNW. The interior is fairly level; grass-covered and featureless. The ephemeral outline of a linear feature, possibly the remnant of a field boundary crosses the interior centrally on a roughly E−W axis. The scarp ringed with hawthorn and some blackthorn, with overgrowth encroaching on the E edge of the interior. Another rath (MA072-082----) is located 200m to W. In pasture, prominently located on a rise with a steep slope to S, and good views over the surrounding expanse of reclaimed pasture and boggy land. Circular earthen platform (14m N-S) defined by a scarp topped with an irregular, intermittent stony rim (Wth c. 2m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.6m). The stony rim, which is thickly ringed with hawthorn bushes, is rather uneven in height and width, and in parts is set in from the edge of the scarp; it is unclear to what extent it represents the remains of a bank or heaps of field clearance stone. The top of the mound is strewn with stones and occasional boulders, and is partly obscured by overgrowth. The nature of this mound is unclear. It may be the remains of a structure, such as a lime kiln, associated with a cluster of buildings/farmstead which was located nearby to SE (and is shown on the 1838 and 1931 OS 6-inch maps), but was removed during land reclamation. Detached five-bay two-storey over part raised basement farmhouse, built 1748; extant 1777, on a T-shaped plan with single-bay (single-bay deep) full-height central return (west). Sold, 1851. Resold, 1867. Occupied, 1911. Now disused. Pitched slate roof on a T-shaped plan centred on pitched slate roof (west) with lichen-covered clay or terracotta ridge tiles, red brick English Garden Wall bond chimney stacks having cut-limestone stringcourses below capping supporting terracotta or yellow terracotta pots, and cast-iron rainwater goods on cut-limestone eaves retaining cast-iron downpipes. Roughcast walls on battered base. Segmental-headed central door opening approached by flight of twelve lichen-covered drag edged tooled cut-limestone steps between replacement mild steel railings, drag edged dragged cut-limestone doorcase with rusticated pilasters centred on monolithic pilasters supporting iron-covered "Cavetto" cornice on fluted keystone, and concealed red brick voussoirs framing replacement timber panelled door having overlight. Square-headed window openings with drag edged dragged cut-limestone sills, and concealed dressings framing two-over-two (basement), six-over-six (ground floor) or six-over-three (first floor) timber sash windows having part exposed sash boxes with some replacement two-over-two timber sash windows (north). Interior including (ground floor): central entrance hall retaining carved timber surrounds to door openings framing timber panelled doors, and decorative plasterwork cornice to ceiling centred on decorative plasterwork ceiling rose; door opening into staircase hall; staircase hall (west) on a square plan retaining carved timber surrounds to door openings framing timber panelled doors, staircase on a dog leg plan with timber balusters supporting carved timber banister, carved timber surrounds to door openings to landing framing timber panelled doors, and moulded plasterwork cornice to ceiling; dining room (south) retaining carved timber surrounds to door openings framing timber panelled doors with carved timber surrounds to window openings framing timber panelled shutters on panelled risers, Classical-style chimneypiece, and moulded plasterwork cornice to ceiling on decorative plasterwork frieze; drawing room (north) retaining carved timber surrounds to door openings framing timber panelled doors with carved timber surrounds to window openings framing timber panelled shutters on panelled risers, cut-white marble Classical-style chimneypiece, and decorative plasterwork cornice to ceiling; and carved timber surrounds to door openings to remainder framing timber panelled doors with carved timber surrounds to window openings framing timber panelled shutters on panelled risers. Set in unkempt landscaped grounds.

Farmyard complex, dated 1795; extant 1838, including: Detached four- or six-bay single-storey coach house-cum-stable outbuilding with half-attic on a symmetrical plan centred on two-bay full-height pedimented breakfront. Now in ruins. Remains of hipped slate roof on a T-shaped plan on collared timber construction centred on pitched (gabled) slate roof (breakfront) with clay ridge tiles, and no rainwater goods surviving on tooled cut-limestone eaves centred on tooled cut-limestone monolithic pediment. Part creeper- or ivy-covered walls originally lime rendered or roughcast with hammered limestone flush quoins to corners. Paired elliptical-headed central carriageways below cut-limestone date stone ("1795") with tooled cut-limestone block-and-start surrounds centred on tooled cut-limestone keystones. Round-headed flanking door openings with tooled cut-limestone block-and-start surrounds centred on tooled cut-limestone keystones. Square-headed window openings in camber-headed recesses (half-attic) with hammered limestone voussoirs framing remains of timber fittings. Interior in ruins. Set in unkempt grounds shared with Barleyhill House.

Gateway, extant 1838, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of limestone ashlar piers having stringcourses below lichen-covered pyramidal capping supporting spear head-detailed wrought iron double gates with limestone ashlar outer piers having stringcourses below lichen-covered pyramidal capping supporting spear head-detailed wrought iron railings. Repositioned, 1983. Now disused. Road fronted.
- Martin J. Sheridan Monument, monument, 1965–1970, Regional interest, registry number 31307108, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=MA&regno=31307108. Freestanding monument, dated 1966, on a rectangular plan. Set back from street with concrete block boundary wall to perimeter having lichen-covered concrete coping.
