In pasture, at the junction of two field walls, located on a low rise in an area of rolling grassland bordered 200m to N by the Deel River. Immediately to NW is a large swallow hole (c. 50m N–S; c. 20m E–W), several meters deep, which is named ‘Polldotia’ on the 1922 OS 6-inch map. Nephin Mountain is prominently visible to SSW and the Nephin Beg Range extends along the skyline to W. This possible barrow is named ‘Ratheen’ on the 1922 OS 6-inch maps. It consists of a circular mound or cairn (9m E–W; 9.5m N–S; H 1.1m at E, 1.4m at W) of earth and stone. The mound is largely sod-covered and obscured by hawthorn, brambles, and on the S and W sides by a jumble of loose field clearance stones. There is another possible barrow (MA038-146----) c. 35m to N, and a cluster of ringbarrows and possible barrows and cairns (MA038-051----; MA038-052----; MA038-053001- to MA038-053003-; MA038-146----) are located in adjacent fields within a range of c. 100-250m to NE, SE and S. In pasture, located on a low rise in an area of rolling grassland, bordered 200m to N by the Deel River. Nephin Mountain is prominently visible to SSW and the Nephin Beg Range extends along the skyline to W. This ringbarrow is not shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map, but is shown on the 1922 edition. It consists of a circular area (diam. c. 10m) defined by a shallow fosse (Wth 1.2-1.4m) with an external bank (Wth 1.7m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.5m). The overall diameter (mid bank to mid bank) is 15-15.5m. The bank was incorporated into a later field fences at W and N, but the fences since have been removed, leaving remnants of stone facing in parts on the external edge of the bank. There is a grassed-over depression (c. 10m N–S; c. 2-3m E–W), the result of past disturbance, immediately to W of the barrow, almost abutting the external edge of the bank. This is the most north-easterly barrow in a cluster of ringbarrows, possible barrows and cairns. The other examples (MA038-050----; MA038-052----; MA038-053001- to MA038-053003-; MA038-146----) are located within 240-400m to WSW and SW. Incorporated into a farmyard, located on a low rise in an area of rolling grassland, bordered 250m to NW by the Deel River. Nephin Mountain is prominently visible to SSW and the Nephin Beg Range extends along the skyline to W. Raised circular area (diam. 11m) defined by a low scarp (H 0.45-0.5m) and enclosed by a fosse (Wth 2.5-3m) with an external bank (Wth c. 3m, at NW; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1m). The overall diameter (mid bank-mid-bank) is 19.5m. The interior is covered in long grass and brambles, with deciduous and coniferous trees growing on the outer edge of the bank. A farm trackway clips the external face of the bank at W–N. The bank at E is incorporated into a field fence, immediately to E of which there is a farmyard and shed. There is a bungalow immediately to W. A cluster of ringbarrows and possible barrows and cairns (MA038-050----; MA038-051----; MA038-053001- to MA038-053003-; MA038-146----) is located in adjacent fields within a range of c. 100-450m to N, NE, and E, and a possible ringcairn (MA038-054----) c. 400m to S. In pasture, located at the S end of a rise, in an area of rolling limestone grassland bordered 200m to NW by the Deel River. Nephin Mountain is prominently visible to SSW and the Nephin Beg Range extends along the skyline to W. Circular area or platform (diam. 8m) defined by a fosse (Wth 2.4m; D 0.35-0.4m) with an external bank (Wth 2m at NE, 2.7m at SW; int. H 0.35-0.4m; ext. H 0.5m). Overall diameter (mid bank): 14.5m N–S; 15.5m E–W. The central platform is level, and is well defined by the shallow, flat-based fosse. The external bank is low but well defined, and appears to be constructed of a mix of earth and stone. There is a break (Wth 2.5m) in the bank at ENE, with a corresponding causeway across the fosse to the central platform. The perimeter is ringed with hawthorn. A field fence, on a roughly E–W axis abuts the external face of the bank at S. There is another ringbarrow (MA038-053002-) c. 80 to SE, and a possible cairn (MA038-053003-) c. 60m to S. In pasture, located on a slight rise, in an area of rolling limestone grassland bordered 200m to NW by the Deel River. The ground falls away to S into a natural water-filled hollow. Nephin Mountain is prominently visible to SSW and the Nephin Beg Range extends along the skyline to W. This cairn is not indicated on the 1838 and 1922 OS 6-inch maps. It is evident as a low, irregular-shaped concentration (max. diam. c. 6m; H 0.35m) of stones. The perimeter at S–SW is defied by a low, curving stony scarp (H 0.35m). A farm track, immediately to N, may have truncated the original N extent of the cairn. The remains are poorly preserved and difficult to interpret; it may be the remnants of a burial cairn or barrow. There is ringbarrow (MA038-053001-) c. 60 to N, and another ringbarrow (MA038-053002-) c. 50m to E. In pasture, located on a rise with a fall of ground to W and NW, in an area of gently rolling limestone grassland bordered c. 500m to NW by the Deel River. Nephin Mountain is prominently visible to SSW and the Nephin Beg Range extends along the skyline to W. This possible ringcairn consists of a circular area (diam. 16.3m) defined by a wall or stone bank (Wth 1.4m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.2m). The wall/stone bank has a clearly defined inner and external kerb of close-set stones, with a core of earth and stones, now largely sod-covered. The interior is level and grass-covered. In the S half, a roughly circular spread (diam. 6m) of loose stones abuts the inner face of the enclosing wall. It is defined on its perimeter by a denser concentration of stones, forming a slightly raised rim (Wth c. 1.5-1.7m; H 0.15m). The significance of this feature is uncertain; it may incorporate field clearance stones. A cluster of ringbarrows and possible barrows or cairns (MA038-050----; MA038-051----; MA038-052----; MA038-053001- to MA038-053003-; MA038-146----) are located in adjacent fields c. 200-400 to N and NE. In pasture, located on a rise with good views generally, and overlooking a natural hollow of wet ground which lies c. 100m to W. Raised circular area (22.2m N–S; 24.2m E–W) defined by a bank (Wth 1.7m; int. H 0.1m; ext. H 0.5m) of earth and stones, reduced almost to a scarp for much of its circuit. There is a break (W 1.4m) in the bank at SE. The interior has an uneven surface. A low bank/wall (Wth 1.2m; H 0.2m), on a N–S axis, extends through the W half of the interior; at its S end, close to the rath bank, there is a rectangular pit (5m E–W; 4m N–S; D 0.8m) with stones visible on its sides and base. In the E half of the interior, there is a slight, poorly defined rise or scarp (H 0.3m), set a few meters in from the bank, which curves from NE to S. Outside the bank, a low sloping terrace (W 3-3.8m; H c. 0.3m) skirts the rath at E-SSW, with less clearly defined traces also evident at N. It may be the remnants of an outer enclosing element. There is a field fence, on a roughly N–S axis, immediately to W of the rath, and a depression, representing an old area of quarrying or disturbance, is located immediately to NW.
