In rough pasture, located on top of a hillock. This enclosure is indicated on the 1837 OS 6-inch map as a circular embanked enclosure (diam. 20-25m); it is not shown on later map editions. When the location was inspected in 1997, no visible trace of the enclosure was evident at ground level. In 2006 topsoil was scarped from the top of the hill during unauthorised off-road works associated with the construction of the N5 Charlestown Bypass. In pasture, located on the N side of a knoll/small ridge. There are extensive views, especially to N where the ground falls away to a flat expanse of pasture and bog. Raised, roughly oval (c. 35m N-S; c. 27m E-W) defined in a broad curve on the W arc by a pronounced earthen scarp (Wth slope 3.5m; H 1.6m, at W). The E half of the enclosure is defined by the shallow curve of a broadly sloping natural fall of ground with no evidence of a man-made enclosing element. A short section of bank, stone faced on the external slope, is evident at SE, which may be a remnant of an original enclosing bank now incorporated into an E-W field fence. A narrow, shallow gully (Wth 0.6m) cuts through the scarp at SSW. On the NW arc there is a slight terrace (Wth 1.6-2m) at the base of the enclosing scarp. The interior of the rath is level and featureless. Dense overgrowth cloaks the perimeter at N and also at SE−S, where the field boundary intersects with the enclosure. There is an old quarry/sand-pit immediately to S of the rath. A souterrain (MA062-059001-) is located at the base of the slope 20m to N. In pasture, located at the base of a N-facing slope of a small ridge. There is a rath (MA062-059) located 20m upslope to SE. A semi-circular depression (max. dim. c. 2m E-W; D 0.6m) is cut into the base of the natural slope. Stones protrude from the sod around its top edge. In pasture, at the S end of the townland, located on top of a NNW-SSE ridge, overlooking flat expanses of bog and reclaimed pasture. Part of the ridge has been quarried away c. 100m to NW. Slightly raised oval area (28m E-W; 22m N-S to field fence) defined SW−SE by an earthen scarp (H 0.8m at W; 1.5m at NE) and at SSE−SSW by a field fence with associated field drain. The field fence appears to have truncated the original S perimeter of the rath; it is thickly covered in overgrowth and it is not possible to determine if it might incorporate part of an original enclosing bank or scarp. The interior is level and grassy, except in SE quadrant where ground slopes to S and is covered by spreading clumps of gorse and brambles. A low stony rise of unknown significance can be glimpsed –but not closely examined - beneath this overgrowth to S of centre. A tractor track skirts the E side of the enclosure, following a slight dip or terrace in ground level. This dip may indicate the line of an external fosse. In pasture, straddles the N side of a small rise. Ground rises gradually to S and E. Shown on the 1837 OS 6-inch map as a circular embanked enclosure (diam. 20-25m); it is not shown on later map editions. There is a grass-covered, roughly circular raised area (17.6m NW-SE; c. 15m NE-SW) at this location. It is defined NW−NNE by a scarp or slope (H 1.9m; Wth slope 6.5m) which merges with the natural slope, at NE−SW by a low scarp (H 0.9m, at SE), and it is truncated at W by a quarry pit (diam. 6m). In pasture, located on a low knoll, with good views. This possible monument was included in the SMR (1991) and the RMP (1997) as ‘enclosure’ on the basis of the depiction on 1919 OS 6-inch map of a shallow hachured arc (cord L 30m), curving NW−NE, perhaps indicating the N arc of an enclosure. It is not shown on the 1837 edition. A slight rise (c. 26m N–S; c. 20m E–W) in ground level is defined at N–SE by a broad, low slope, which appears to be natural. There is a shallow, grassed-over pit or area of disturbance (c. 10m across E−W) at the S end of the rise, and a deep quarry pit (dim. 15-20m) is dug out of the W edge. There is a local tradition of children’s burial ground here, but no trace of burials is evident. There is an enclosure (MA062-061----) located 80m to NE.
