In pasture on a W-facing slope. A subcircular area (int. diams. 38m E-W; 34m N-S) is enclosed by an inner earthen bank (int. H 0.2-0.6m; Wth 4m at E to 6m at NNE; ext. H 1.4m) and a flat-bottomed fosse (Wth 3m at E to 4.5m at S; D 0.3m at E to 0.7m at S). The inner bank and fosse have been dug away (D 0.8m) between NW and NNE, as shown on the OS 25-inch plan (1893). Traces of a second, outer bank of earth and stone (int. H 0.5m; Wth 4m; ext. H 0.7m) survive between SW and W. The interior slopes noticeably down towards the W and contains four large boulders in the W sector. Immediately outside the monument at WSW is a rectangular depression (L c. 16m NNW-SSE; Wth c. 3-4m), the result of relatively modern ground disturbance. In pasture on a W-facing slope. A roughly circular area (int. diams. 36m N–S; 4m E–W) is enclosed by an inner bank of earth and stone (int. H 1m; Wth 4m at N to 7m at WNW; ext. H 1.4m) with narrow livestock gaps at N, S and W. The remains of a flat-bottomed fosse (Wth 3m) and a second, outer bank (int. H over base of fosse 0.8m; Wth 7m; ext. H 0.8m) only survive between ESE and S, with the bank poached by livestock along the SE. A later field boundary runs N-S immediately to the E and may incorporate part of the outer bank. The interior slopes slightly towards the SE. There is a dug-out area (L 8m E-W; Wth 7m; D 0.6m) abutting the inner face of the inner bank in the NW sector. On a rise in undulating pasture overlooking a valley to the E through which a small stream flows N to join the Ashbrook River. A large densely overgrown, roughly circular area (int. diams. 50m E-W; 48m N–S, 50m E–W) is defined by an inner scarp (H 3m), a fosse (Wth 2-3m) and an outer earthen bank (int. H over base of fosse 0.5m; av. Wth 4m; ext. H 0.8-1.5m) which is overlain by a later field wall in the NE sector. The interior slopes slightly down towards the E and is briar and nettle covered. In pasture, located on a rise, with good views. There is a stream 140m to E. This well preserved rath consists of a substantially raised circular platform (39.3m N−S; 33.6m E−W) defined by a scarp (H 2m at N, 2.8m at S), and enclosed by a fosse (3.9m at N, 3m at S) with an external bank (Wth 6.8m at N, 6.3m at S; int. H 1.65m at N, 1.5m at S; ext. H 1.55m at N, 1m at S). Remnants of stone facing (H 1.2m) can be seen on the scarp on the N arc; this appears to be the result of modification of the scarp to serve as a field boundary in the modern era. The interior has a slight slope down from centre toward the E, where the entrance is located. The entrance features a broad, slumped section of scarp (Wth 4m) which drops to a causeway across the fosse, with a corresponding gap (Wth 3.5m) in the external bank. An E−W field fence cuts across the N side of the entrance. A souterrain (MA071-063002-), indicated as ‘Cave’on the 1838 and 1931 OS 6-inch maps, is located in the NW quadrant: The NE wall of a collapsed stone-built chamber is visible, and . Four close-set prostrate slabs lie on the ground surface 6m to S, probably displaced roof lintel. The rath perimeter is thickly ringed with hazel, hawthorn and blackthorn trees. The interior ground surface is rather uneven, with hummocks and hollows, and is moderately strewn with loose stones. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 6 August 2021

In a rath (MA071-063001-). This souterrain is marked as ‘Cave’ in the NW quadrant of the rath on the 1838 and 1931 OS 6-inch maps. A sunken oblong hollow (5.5m NE−SW) lies adjacent to the rath scarp at NW. This is a collapsed souterrain chamber or passage. The subsidence slumps down toward the NE end of the hollow where an intact drystone wall is exposed. The wall (H 2m) describes a gently curve N−E in plan, suggesting that it is the intact NE end of the oblong chamber (Wth 2m). It is constructed of ten courses of large stone blocks, gently corbelled towards the top to support a roof lintel. The top of the wall underlies a layer of sod and topsoil (D 0.3m). An E−W row of four large prostrate slabs lies embedded in the ground surface 6m to S, these may be roof lintels –possibly displaced. In pasture, encompassing the top of a prominent rise, with a stream at the base of the slope to NE. This rath is shown as a circular embanked enclosure (diam. 20-25m) on the 1838 OS 6-inch map; it is not shown on later map editions. The barely discernible outline of an oval enclosure (c. 20m E–W; c. 25m N–S) is defined by traces of a scarp at NE−S, merging with the natural slope.
