In reclaimed pasture, straddling a gentle S-facing slope. This rath is not indicated on the 1838 OS 6-inch map; it is shown on the 1915 edition as a hachured circular enclosure. When inspected in 1984, it consisted of a circular area (diam. 28m E-W) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank (H 2-2.5m) with no indications of a fosse (SMR file). There was no trace of graves associated with traditional use of the rath as a children's burial ground (MA119-001003-). Possible earthworks (MA119-001002-) were noted in the field to SW of the rath. The rath was levelled during land reclamation in the late 1980’s/early 1990’s. When inspected in 2000, the ephemeral outline of a levelled bank could still be traced NW–NE, and at SE-S where it merges with a natural break of slope. In lowlying pasture, prone to seasonal flooding, to S and SW of a rath (MA119-001001-). The area is bordered at NNW by a natural limestone scarp, overlain now by a field boundary wall. In 1984 several mounds and hollows were noted in the field to SW of the rath (SMR file). They included low, curving earthen banks and roughly circular depressions, but formed no clear pattern. Some of the low mounds and tussocks of vegetation in the S of the field appeared to be the result of periodic flooding, and some of the banks and mound further N in the field may also have been caused by flooding or were possibly remnants of efforts to stop flooding. A group of five large stones, with some smaller stones around them, was interpreted as being the result of field clearance. All these features were removed in the late 1980’s/early 1990’s by reclamation works, and no trace of them was visible when the site was inspected in 2000. According to local tradition, there was a children's burial ground in the interior of a rath (MA119-001001-) which was levelled the late 1980’s/early 1990’s. A parcel is the land of a title, not an address. The owner's name is in the Land Registry of Tailte Éireann: a copy of the folio can be ordered on landdirect.ie, for a fee; this site names no owner.
