In pasture, located on a slight rise, with a stream c. 50m to W. Good views. Slightly raised, roughly circular area (40m N–S; 44.2m E–W) defined by a bank of earth and stone, and enclosed by a fosse with an external bank or counterscarp. The inner bank (Wth 2.7-3m, 3.5m at E; int. H 0.5-0.6m; ext. H 1.1m) appears be predominately earthen in its core makeup, but there is evidence for a facing of stone both internally and externally. Stones also protrude along the top of the bank. It is somewhat dilapidated and is eroded in parts by farm stock; it is lowest at W−N. The fosse (Wth 2-2.3m) appears relatively narrow. The external bank survives only as a low, sod-covered stony rise, truncated on the N and E sides by a later field walls. There is a gap (Wth 2.2m) in the inner bank at S with traces of a causeway over the fosse and a corresponding break in the external bank. The interior is level. At the N the inner bank is incorporated into a roughly E–W field wall, flanking a trackway that overlies the line of the fosse. Grass cover in interior; perimeter lightly ringed with hawthorn. In pasture, located on top of a ridge, close to the break of slope on the E side where there is a steep fall of ground, providing good views over the surrounding undulating grassland. Not shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map; shown on the 1920 edition as an arc of hachures curving S–NE (chord L c. 30-35m NE–SW), possibly defining the NW half of an enclosure. There is no visible trace at ground level. In level pasture, c. 50m W of the Mullaghaghanoe River. Spring well, named ‘Toberarraght’ on the 1838 and 1920 OS 6-inch maps, enclosed within a concrete surround, with a small hole in the concrete giving access to the water. Four concrete pillars support a flat stone slab which provides a cover for the well hole. According to local information, the well was originally enclosed by a stone wall, which was replaced by the current concrete fixtures in 1954 for the Marion Year. The well is dedicated to St. Attracta, and the traditional pattern day is on 11th August (OS Letters 1838, 375 (154)). Adjacent to the well there is a concrete-built shrine enclosing a modern statue of St. Attracta. According to local information, water from the well was reputed to cure eye complaints. The well was dry at time of visit. A small cross-inscribed stone slab (Wth 0.24m; H 0.3m) is cemented into the concrete shrine. Engraved on the slab are a simple cross rising from a triangular base, and the date 1767. According to local information, the cross-engraved slab was originally located on top of a pillar-like dry-stone structure (MA063-043001-) which once stood immediately to S of the well. There is a rough heap of stones a few meters to NW of the well. A plain, flat thin slab (L 1.25,; Wth 0.61m; T 5cm) lies on the ground adjacent to the heap of stones. In level pasture, adjacent to a holy well (MA063-043001-), c. 50m W of the Mullaghaghanoe River. A small square feature, annotated ‘Pillar’ is shown on the 1838 and 1920 OS 6-inch maps immediately to SSW of the holy well. No trace survives. According to local information, it consisted of a large, dry-stone structure, roughly square in cross-section. On top of it was a small stone slab (Wth 0.24m; H 0.3m) engraved with a simple cross with a triangular base, and the date 1767. The pillar/structure was dismantled when the well was refurbished in 1954 for the Marion Year, and the cross-engraved slab is now cemented into a modern shrine adjacent to the well. In pasture, located on a rise in an area of gently undulating grassland. There is a river c. 250m to E. A farmyard is located immediately to E. Substantially raised, oval flat-topped platform (32m NNW–SSE; 26m WSW–ENE) defined by an earthen scarp (H 3m). The platform utilises a natural sandy/gravelly rise. The interior is bisected roughly centrally by an E–W post and wire property boundary. According to local tradition, a shallow irregular-shaped hollow in the S half marks the location of a souterrain (MA063-044001-). Interior largely grass-covered; perimeter thickly ringed with gorse, hawthorn and hazel. An E–W farm track lies immediately to N of the rath. In pasture, enclosed within a small, roughly square field, located on a rise. Ground slopes down gently towards a stream c. 40m to W, and there is a river 130m to E. Slightly raised circular area (diam. c. 25m) defined by an earthen bank and enclosed by a fosse with an external bank. The inner bank (Wth 3.8m at SE, 3.3m at NE; int. H 0.4m at SE; ext. H 0.65m at SE, 0.8m at NE) incorporates stones in parts, particularly noticeable adjacent to a gap, possibly an original entrance at ESE. The fosse (Wth 3.8m at SE, 4m at NE) is evident as a shallow depression, with much stone strewn along its base. Discrete sections of the external bank (Wth c. 4m; int. H 0.65m; ext. H 0.3m, at SE) survives as a broad, low rise of earth and stones at NE, SE, SW and NW, but elsewhere it has been incorporated into, or truncated by later stone-built field fences, which box in the rath on all sides. In the interior, a shallow depression (Wth c. 2m; D 0.3m) extends from a low area in the bank at NNW through the interior for a few meters to SSE, but is difficult to examine due to overgrowth. The interior is largely obscured by a thicket of blackthorn, hawthorn, brambles and ferns; the perimeter is ringed with hawthorn and ash trees.
