In pasture, located on a rise, in an area of mixed rough pasture and bog. Circular area (diam. 16m) defined by sod-covered stone bank/wall (W 2.7; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.4m). The stone bank, which is incorporated into a field fence on the SE arc, is low and degraded. At NW it has a broader external slump, possibly resulting from an accumulation of field clearance stones. There are breaks at NNE (W 1.5m) and NE (W 4m). A break (W 3.2m) to E is now blocked by the field fence. In the interior to S is an oval-shaped, grassed-over depression (4m NE-SW; 3m NW-SE; D 0.5m). Conifers have been planted along the line of the field fence. In level pasture, in an area of gently undulating pasture and bogland. Nephin Mountain dominates the skyline to SE. Not indicated on the 1838 OS 6-inch map; shown on the 1922 edition as a hachured arc (L c. 20m), curving NW–NE, in the S corner of a modern rectangular field, with a small cluster of buildings/farmstead immediately to E. It may have representing the N arc of a circular enclosure. There is no visible trace at ground level; the adjacent field boundaries and the buildings have been removed. There is a possible megalithic tomb (MA038-102----) 75m to SSE. Compiled by: Jane O'Shaughnessy Date of upload: 6 August 2019 - MA038-102: Megalithic tomb - unclassified, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CMA038-102----. In rough-average pasture, located on a slight rise, overlooked to NE by a low ridge. Nephin Mountain looms to S, and the Nephin Beg range defines the horizon to SW. This possible megalithic tomb is not shown on the 1838 and 1922 OS 6-inch maps. It is evident as a grass-covered, sub-rectangular mound (16.4m NNE–SSW; 11.4m NNW–SSE; H 0.4-0.6m). The sides of the mound are highest and well defined at NW, N and NE, but the S side has a low, poorly defined slump. A row of three close-set, upright stones of roughly similar dimensions (L 0.8-1.1 NNE–SSW; Wth 0.3-0.55; H 0.3-0.6m) protrudes from the NE side; the row mirrors the long axis of the mound. A single upright stone protrudes from the centre of the mound, 2.25m to SW of the row. Heaps of loose stones and boulders, which are piled against the mound at various points along the E, NW and N sides, appear to be the result of relatively recent field clearance activites. A small portion (4m NE–SW; 2m NW–SE) of the SSE edge of the mound has been dug away.
