- ME016-020: Ringfort - rath, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CME016-020----. Situated on the E-facing slope of a hill. A circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 40m) is depicted on the 1836 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described as a ‘Fort’, and it is represented as a circular hachured feature on the 1912 edition. This was described in 1965 as a circular area (diam. c. 40m) defined by an earthen bank (ext. H c. 1.5m) with an outer stone facing and hedge, and a fosse (D c. 0.6m) on the W side (SMR file). By 1969 only a curve in a field bank (Chord c. 40m) NE-SE indicates the monument. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). Located in a hollow in an undulating landscape. This is a red slate stone (dims 0.6m x 0.2m; full H 2m) aligned E-W and leaning to the S. Standing stone (ME016-053----) is c. 200m to the ESE. Channelled limestone gate piers, built c.1760, with pair of wrought-iron gates, flanked by wrought-iron pedestrian gates, having channelled limestone gate piers. Set in rubble stone boundary walls. Two-bay single-storey former gate lodge to the site.

Three ranges of stable buildings, built c.1760, set around a central courtyard. Pitched slate roofs, with stone bellcote to east range. Rendered walls with lozenge patterned vents. Buttresses to south elevation of south range. Timber sash windows set in segmental-arched openings with stone sills. Timber battened doors set in square-headed openings with ashlar limestone dressings. Segmental-arched carriage arched with ashlar limestone dressings. East range now also in use as private dwelling.

Three ranges of multiple-bay single-storey outbuildings, built c.1760, set around a central cobbled courtyard, which is closed to the west by a two-storey range. Pitched slate roofs.
