Situated on a rise in a gently undulating landscape. This is a raised and grass-covered oval area (dims 36m N-S; 26m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth of base 6-7m; int. H 0.2-0.3m; ext. H 1.6-2m) SSE-W-NNW, with a slight berm (at WSW: Wth 3.4m) at its base WSW-NNW. It is truncated by a NW-SE field bank at NE, and the centre is crossed by the remnant of a relict E-W field bank, confined now to the interior of the monument. H 1.6m) NNE-E-SW, reduced to a scarp (at WSW: Wth 3.5m; H 1.3m) elsewhere. There are traces of a fosse (at ENE: Wth of base 1.5m; ext. D 0.5m) N-E. The original entrance (Wth of base 2.1m) is at ESE. There is a relict field bank in the interior and others in the surrounding field. H 0.8m) WSW-N that is reduced to a scarp (at NE: Wth 4.3m; H 2m) elsewhere. There is no visible fosse but there is a ramp entrance (Wth of base 3.9m) at SW. H 0.3m; ext. H 1.4-1.8m) and an outer fosse (Wth of top 8-10m; Wth of base 2-4m; ext. D 0.2m). The original entrance (Wth of base 3.9m) is at NNE. The interior is overlain by a NE-SW field bank just S of the centre, and it incorporates the SE part of the bank (Wth of base 6m; H 0.1-0.4m) defining a small hut-site (int. diam. 5m). It is not depicted on any OS map but was described in 1970 as a raised rectangular area (dims 41m ENE-WSW; 37m NNW-SSE) defined by moats on each side, except the WSW (SMR file). There was a large rectangular structure defined by low earthen banks with no visible entrance in the SW angle. Outside the moats at NNW and SSW were outer banks. It had been removed by 1995 (OSAP). H 0.6m) that is best preserved (at E: Wth of base 6.5m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.3m) NNE-S. It has no visible fosse and the original entrance is not identified. A NNE-SW relict field bank overlies the interior towards the edge at W and a fragment (L 3.6m) of a NE-SW relict bank is at the centre. H 0.2-0.4m; ext. H 0.7m at SW to 1.7m at NE). There is an outer berm (Wth 2m) defined by an external scarp (ext. H 0.5m). There is an entrance (Wth of base 3.2m) and outer ramp (Wth of base 4m) at S, and another entrance (Wth of base 4m) and ramp (Wth of top 3.3m; H 0.3m) at E. There are some broad WNW-ESE cultivation ridges in the S part of the interior.
