The relict fields cover an area of about 5 hectares (c. 13 acres). Archaeological testing (08E1001) by P. D. Sweetman at the E edge of the area produced no related material (excavations 2008:962), and further archaeological testing (09E0043) by R. Meenan c. 80m to the E had a similar result (excavations 2009:636). More recently, archaeological testing (19E0393) by P. D. Sweetman on the site of a house at the roadside produced no related material (excavations.ie 2019:771).
