Situated on a hillock. A circular embanked enclosure is depicted only on the 1912 edition of the OS 6-inch map within a small wood. A small fragment of an earthen bank (Wth of base 2.8m; int. H c. 0.8m; ext. H 1.3m) and an outer fosse (Wth of base 1.4m; ext. D 0.5m) at the NW edge of an enclosure survived in 1968 (SRM file), the rest having been quarried away (O’Connell 1958, 17). It is absorbed within a farm complex since 2000 (OSAP). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). Situated at the summit of a short and low NE-SW ridge in a fairly level landscape. It is depicted as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 35m) with some trees only on the 1836 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described as a ‘Fort’, the perimeter of which is clipped by a NE-SW field bank at SE. It is a slightly raised and grass-covered area (diam. 27m NE-SW; 25m NW-SE) defined by a scarp (at S: Wth 2.5m; H 0.5m), but the perimeter is incorporated into a NW-SE field bank at N and a NE-SW road bank at SE. Archaeological testing (20E0392) by D. Finn on the site of a single house c. 10m to the SE on the other side of a public road produced no related material (excavations.ie 2020:781). Located on a rise in an undulating landscape. This is depicted as a D-shaped embanked enclosure truncated by a NW-SE field bank at NE on the 1836 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described as a ‘Fort’ and as a similar hachured feature on the 1912 edition. This is a D-shaped grass and scrub-covered area (dims 32.5m NW-SE; 18.5m NE-SW) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (at S: Wth of base 3.8m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1.5m) surviving SE-W-NW and truncated by a NW-SE field bank at NE. There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance.
