Situated at the SW end of a small NE-SW ridge, with a small N-S ravine immediately to the E. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 28.5m NW-SE; 27.5m) defined by a slight but overgrown earthen bank NNW-E that is largely reduced to an overgrown scarp (at SE: H c. 2.4m). There is an outer overgrown fosse and external bank SSW-W-NE that are replaced by the ravine on the E side. There is a large entrance gap (Wth of base 4.2m) in the inner bank at NE which is probably the original entrance, but a gap in the outer bank here (Wth c. 3.5m) is now closed. Detached three-bay two-storey over basement country house, built c.1790, having multiple-bay return to return, latter containing main entrance on 1907 OS map, single-storey over basement addition to south-west with canted bay window to south-west gable, connected by short link, and further block to north-west. Now ruinous. Hipped slate roof, partially collapsed, with paired rendered red brick chimneystacks, terracotta ridge tiles and timber eaves brackets. Harl-rendered walls, coursed rubble stone visible to north-east elevation. Coursed rubble stone to rear. Square-headed window openings having dressed sills, with some remnants of one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows, and some timber panelled shutters to interior. Gauged red brick square-headed openings to rear. Round-headed door opening to front (south-east) elevation, outline of canopy over visible. Steps and door removed. Gauged dressed masonry square-headed door opening to north-east elevation, with timber architrave surround, metal round-headed canopy over, opening on to platform with four masonry steps. Courtyard of two-storey outbuildings to north of house, having hipped slate roof with clay ridge tiles, coursed rubble sandstone and limestone walls, harl render visible in places, square-headed window and door openings to first floor, with timber fittings, segmental-arch vehicular entrances, some having gauged red brick over, to ground floor, some having red brick reveals. Multiple-bay two-storey building having square-plan tower projection to south-east elevation, now much overgrown and roofless, with coursed rubble limestone walls, and having gauged red brick round-headed arcade to front (north-east) elevation, some infilled, some arches supported on dressed stone Doric-style columns. Building has gauged brick round-headed door opening to front of tower, red brick surrounds and timber fittings, and loop openings with red brick surrounds to first floor. - Viaduct, 1920–1930, Regional interest, registry number 41401703, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=MO®no=41401703. Eight-span railway viaduct, built c.1925, to replace earlier lattice girder viaduct, built c.1858. Original abutment wing walls to east and west elevations, rock-faced rusticated stone having dressed copings, terminating in square-plan piers. Reinforced concrete piers, shouldered and tapered, shoulders and top coped with concrete, V-banding to each. Original abutments faced with identical reinforced concrete piers. Single-arch railway bridge, built c.1855, carrying Great Northern Railway over accommodation crossing. Round arch, having rock-faced rusticated and margined stone voussoirs, and random rubble stone soffit. Tapered projecting buttresses flanking arch to abutments, continuing to form curved wing walls, terminating in square-plan piers. Rock-faced rusticated stone to spandrel walls, abutments and buttresses, with limestone to parapet walls and sandstone to remainder. Dressed stone plat-bands at impost level and running over arch-ring, continuing to form coping to wing walls. Single-arch railway bridge, built c.1858, carrying Dundalk and Enniskillen Railway over River Finn. Round arch with rock-faced rusticated and margined voussoirs and coursed rock-faced rusticated stone to soffit. Abutments extend to north of arch, to incorporate wing wall, dressed chamfered platband at impost level, continuing through arch and abutment to north. Splayed tapering wing walls, with dressed stone copings, flanking arch. Path running under arch to east abutment. Coursed rusticated stone to spandrel walls and parapet walls, random squared rusticated stone to wing walls and retaining wall to path. Triple-arch railway bridge, built c.1858, carrying accommodation track over Dundalk and Enniskillen Railway. Segmental arches with dressed sandstone voussoirs, and coursed rock-faced rusticated stone to soffits. Chamfered rusticated stone platbands running through arches at impost level. Tapered piers of coursed rock-faced rusticated stone, with channelled dressed sandstone to outer elevations of piers. Coursed rusticated stone to spandrels, dressed sandstone parapets.
