H 3-3.2m) separated by a flat-bottomed fosse (Wth of top 7.4; Wth of base 2-3.6m; ext. D 0.3-0.5m) from an outer overgrown bank (Wth 4-5.2m; ext. H 0.4-0.6m) that is incorporated into a field bank, except E-SE. The entrance through the inner (Wth of base 1.2m) and outer (Wth c. 7m) banks with a causeway (Wth of top 2.8m; H 0.75m) is at S. Located on a rise towards the S end of a fairly low N-S ridge in a low-lying landscape. A circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 30m) is depicted faintly on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’, and a hachured feature is depicted on the 1907 edition.
