- MO012-059: Crannog, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CMO012-059----. Depicted as an island close to the NE shore of Glear Lough or Bishop’s Lough, an oval lake (max. dims c. 440m WNW-ESE; c. 200m NNE-SSW) on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map, but it is now incorporated in the tip of a promontory on the SW side of the much reduced lake. It is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 18m E-W; 16m N-S; H c. 1m over the lake) with trees at the edge. Some piles in the water at E and animal bones at the N edge are noted in the 1940s (SMR file). Crannog (MO012-060----) is c. 100m to the NE. Situated on top of a drumlin overlooking Bishops Lough to the NE. It is depicted as an oval wood on the 1834 and 1907 editions of the OS 6-inch map. This is an oval domed area (max. dims c. 85m NNW-SSE; c. 50m ENE-WSW) of deciduous woodland defined by the scarped edge of the hill with a slight lip, which is most marked (Wth c. 3m; int. H c. 0.6m; ext. H 2m) at SE. There is no visible fosse or drain, or recognisable entrance.
