Situated on top of a hill. It is depicted as a square embanked enclosure described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’ on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map and as a small rectangular field on the 1907 edition. This is a rectangular grass-covered platform (dims 19m N-S; 19m E-W; H 0.5m at E to 1m at W) with some deciduous trees on the perimeter defined by a fosse or drain (Wth 2.5m; ext. D 0.2m). There is a possible entrance ramp (Wth 2.5m) towards the S end of the W side, and the S edge of the enclosure is connected with field banks that extend off to the NW and E. Full-height canted bay to west end of front elevation and to south end of east elevation. Single-storey shed to re-entrant block and single-storey conservatory to west elevation. Slate roofs with fish-scale courses, pitched to north end of east elevation and steeply hipped elsewhere, with clay ridge tiles, shouldered cut-stone chimneystacks with moulded copings, and decorative timber bargeboards. Spired slate roofs to canted bays, with cast-iron finials. Rock-faced limestone walls with ashlar block-and-start quoins, chamfered rock-faced plinth course and moulded string course. Roughcast rendered walls to rear elevation and returns. Square-headed window openings to canted bays, with replacement uPVC windows, chamfered ashlar surrounds and cut-stone sills. Window over entrance bay is triple-light with similar details to other openings. Rock-faced stone relieving arches over gable-fronted east end bay of front and triple-light opening. Pointed arch door opening to centre of front elevation, with glazed double-leaf battened timber door, chamfered ashlar block-and-start surround, decorative moulded timber hood, and approached by cut limestone steps. Set within own grounds, with summer house to south-west and two-storey stables to rear. Detached three-bay two-storey L-plan house, built c.1925, with single-storey lean-to porch to middle bay of front elevation, gable-fronted projecting east end bay to front elevation, and with lean-to corrugated-iron outbuilding attached to rear. Pitched slate roof with terracotta ridge tiles, red brick chimneystack with red brick string course and terracotta pots, timber bargeboards, timber eaves brackets and cast-iron rainwater goods. Late twentieth-century single-storey lean-to conservatory to south elevation leading to single-storey projection at rear south-west corner. Pitched slate roofs with two decorative courses of clipped slates, ornate terracotta ridge and moulded finials having smooth rendered chimneystacks with over-sailing caps paired to middle of roof. Overhanging timber eaves with replacement uPVC rainwater goods, and decorative timber bargeboards featuring carved timber pendants and dragon-head motifs at eaves level. Flat-roof dormers to rear pitched-roof extension. Painted smooth rendered ruled and lined walls with projecting rusticated smooth render block-and-start quoins. Square-headed openings throughout with stone sills and replacement uPVC windows. Front entrance doorway has replacement partially glazed panelled timber door and overlight. Cast-iron pillars support gablet to entrance, gablet having elaborately carved timber bargeboards, valence, and terracotta ridge tiles and finial. Steps to garden. Wrought-iron double-leaf gates set to cast-iron round-plan piers, providing separate pedestrian and vehicular access to house which is set in private landscaped lawns and gardens on corner site between Cavan Road and Mullanamoy Road linking with Newtownbutler Road. Pitched slate roof with fish-scale courses to middle of slopes, crested terracotta ridge tiles, paired smooth rendered chimneystacks with moulded copings and terracotta pots and decorative timber bargeboards with dragon-head details. Eaves to roof of entrance and flanking bay windows has dentil course that continues to gable of entrance. Square-plan timber posts support entrance gable, with moulded capitals, and plinths. Square-headed window openings to front elevation with two-over-two pane sliding timber sash windows, bay windows having moulded timber surrounds with scroll brackets to front and outer lights, and painted sills.
