A curve in a field bank S-NW (Chord c. 20m) in a pasture field could contain part of the original bank. Rath (MO030-002----) is c. 180m to the ENE. It is depicted as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 35m) on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’, and as a hachured D-shaped feature N of an E-W field bank on the 1907 edition. This is an overgrown D-shaped area (dims c. 22m E-W; c. 10m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (at NW: Wth c. 2m; int. H 0.25m; ext. H 0.95m) W-N-E, which is reduced to a scarp (H 1.2m) at NE. There is no visible fosse or entrance. The monument is truncated by an E-W field bank at S, and cannot be traced visibly S of this feature. Ringfort (MO030-001----) is c. 180m to the WSW. H 2.15m) and hedge, with traces of an outer stone cladding at N and S. There is no visible fosse, although there is an outer field bank at the base of the scarp S-W, and the original entrance is not identified. The interior is overlain by the remains of a relict NW-SE field bank NE of the centre. Located on a rise in a fairly high col with the summits of drumlins c. 230m to the NNW, c. 250m to the S and c. 400m to the E but with lower ground to the NE. This is a subcircular grass and scrub-covered area (dims 29m E-W; 25.5m N-S) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 4-4.5m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.5-1.8m) and hedge, with an outer fosse best preserved NW-E (at E: Wth of top 3m; D 0.2m). An outer bank (Wth of base 2.4-4m; ext. H 0.2-0.6m) only survives NE-E. The entrance is a large gap (Wth of base 4.2m) and causeway (Wth of top 4.6m) at NE. A NNE-SSW field bank adds an outer stone facing to the inner bank E-SE. There is a rectangular house site (int. dims 6.6m E-W; 6m N-S) defined by a slight earthen bank (Wth 1.6m; H 0.1m) that has an entrance (Wth 1.5m) at E in the centre. H 0.5-0.9m; ext. H 0.9m at N to 1.8m at S) and hedge. The perimeter is incorporated into a field bank with an outer stone-facing NNW-ESE (at NE: Wth of base 4.1m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 2.1m). There are traces of an outer fosse (Wth c. 3m) NW-ESE. The entrance (Wth of base 2.2m) and causeway (Wth of top 3.2m; H 0.6m) are at SE. Earlier two-bay single-storey outbuilding attached to north gable, having pitched corrugated-iron roof, whitewashed rubble stone walls, square-headed openings with timber battened doors. Detached single-bay two-storey outbuilding to north having pitched corrugated-iron roof, whitewashed rubble stone walls, and square-headed openings with timber battened door and shutters. Concrete cast in-situ external stairs to east gable. Set back from road having front garden with rendered boundary wall having square-plan entrance piers to pedestrian entrance and round-plan entrance piers to vehicular entrance to roadside, both with wrought-iron gates.
