Monaghan from c. 1590 by Browne and Bocazio, and from c. 1591 and c. 1598 by Jobson. As a high status site it is argued that it could have been occupied by the McKenna leadership into the sixteenth century (McDermott 2010, 400-402, figs 4, 6). This is a submerged cairn (diam. c. 15m), which and it is located at the point where four townlands meet c. 100m from the S shore. It is normally c. 1-2m below lake level but its location is marked by a pole.
