An entrance is not identified, and a fosse (Wth c. 1.5m; D c. 0.6m) at N noted in the 1940s was not recorded in 1968 (SMR file). There is a farm track at the base of the scarp S-WNW, and farm buildings encroach on the interior at this side. Situated at the S end of a short N-S drumlin ridge which is known as ‘Doon’, meaning a fort. This is an oval grass-covered area (dims 27m NE-SW; 21.5m NW-SE) defined by an earthen bank (Wth c. 4m; int. H c. 0.5m; ext. H c. 2m) NNW-NE which is largely reduced to a scarp and hedge that has a field bank at its base WSW-WNW. The original entrance is not identified with certainly but it might be the gap (Wth of base 1m) at SSW. The interior has become overgrown since 1968 (OSAP).
