- MO014-021001: Ringfort - cashel, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CMO014-021001-. Situated on a knoll of rock outcrop in a low-lying landscape with a valley extending off to the NW. A canalised S-N stream curves around the monument S-E-N c. 30m distant and forms the boundary with Co. Armagh. This is an oval grass and scrub-covered area (dims 39m NNW-SSE; 26m ENE-WSW) with rock outcrop defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth c. 3m) at the base of the outcrop NNW-E-SE, and rising over the ridge SE-SW. The perimeter is provided by a scarp (H 1.9m) SW-W and a rock cliff W-NNW. There is a gap (Wth of base c. 3m) at SE, but the original entrance (Wth of base 2.7m) is probably that at S. In the interior, between exposures of rock outcrop at NE and NW is a rectangular house site (ext. dims 9.7m NW-SE; 5.7m NE-SW) defined by earthen banks (Wth c. 1-1.5m; H c. 0.3m), but the NE side is almost entirely missing. Situated in a hollow on a knoll of rock outcrop and in the interior of cashel (MO014-021001). A rectangular house site (ext. dims 9.7m NW-SE; 5.7m NE-SW) defined by earthen banks (Wth c. 1-1.5m; H c. 0.3m), but with the NE side is almost entirely missing, is between exposures of rock outcrop to the NE and NW. Situated on a slight S-N spur in a low-lying landscape. It is depicted as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m E-W) on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’, and it is represented as rough ground on the 1907 edition. This is an overgrown subrectangular cairn (dims 24m NW-SE; 18m NE-SW) with the remains of a broad court (Wth 6.5m; D 5m) at the SE end. The court gives access through two portal stones to the scant remains of a chamber (L 1.7m; Wth 1.1), but a hollow in the cairn behind it suggests that other chambers have been robbed. - MO014-039: Souterrain, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CMO014-039----. Discovered in the course of destruction during 1974. It consisted of a passage and undifferentiated chamber (min. L 7.5m E-W; max. Wth 1.5m; max. H 1.55m) that had the natural rock as the floor and drystone walls corbelling in to a lintelled roof. There was an air shaft (Wth 0.6m; H 0.2m; L 0.4m plus) in the back wall of the chamber immediately below the lintels. There is a local tradition of a second souterrain nearby, but in 2000 this proved to be an old mine trial, probably from c. 1843 when mining occurred in the area. Located just down from the summit of Lemgare Rocks, on the W side, and overlooking a small sheltered, flat-bottomed valley (dims c. 50m NW-SE; c. 15-20m NE-SW) that slopes down to the NW, which is just to the S.
