- MO027-103: Ringfort - rath, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CMO027-103----. Situated at the crest of the SW-facing slope of a broad drumlin. A circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 30-35m) is depicted on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’. No archaeological feature is visible at ground level in pasture, but a curving field bank SSE-WSW (Chord 29m) might respect the line of the perimeter or incorporate part of it. Located at the E tip of a short W-E spur. This is a subcircular grass-covered area (dims 35.5m NW-SE; 28.8m NE-SW) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (at SW: Wth 5.4m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 3.3m) SSW-W-NE, but the perimeter is reduced to a scarp (H 0.5m) elsewhere. A N-S field bank is incorporated in the scarp SW-NW, and a WNW-ESE field bank runs along the top of the scarp N-NE. A small section of fosse (Wth of base 4m; ext. H 0.65m) survives between the field banks at NW, but it is not evident elsewhere. The original entrance is not identified.
