Located just off the crest of the S-facing slope of a drumlin. A circular enclosure (ext. diam. c. 35m) is depicted on the 1834 edition of OS 6-inch map as defined by a field bank but it is described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’. Traces of a ploughed out bank are visible at the N edge in pasture. Rath (MO007-002----) is c. 170m to the SSW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). Located at the S tip of a N-S drumlin ridge. H 2.2m) WSW-NE and a scarp (at S: H 2.3m) elsewhere. There is an outer fosse that has been re-cut as a water-logged drain (at W: Wth of top 2.5m; Wth of base 2m; ext. D 0.7m) SE-W-NW. There are several gaps in the bank but that at E (Wth c. 4.6m) is probably the original entrance. A parcel is the land of a title, not an address. The owner's name is in the Land Registry of Tailte Éireann: a copy of the folio can be ordered on landdirect.ie, for a fee; this site names no owner. A price is the price recorded for a past sale, not a valuation.
