Situated at the SE end of a slight NW-SE ridge that is on a NE-facing slope overlooking a small dry closed valley. A small embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 25m) with a farm lane curving around it NE-S and farm buildings just to the W is depicted on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’, and it is represented as a D-shaped enclosure with straight sides at W and N on the 1907 edition. This is a subcircular area (dims c. 30m N-S; c. 26m E-W) defined by field banks, and is used as a haggard. Located on a shelf on a NE-facing slope. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 29m NE-SW; 29m NW-SE) defined by an earthen bank (at SW: Wth of base 6.2m; int. H 1m, ext. H 2.2m) separated by a flat-bottomed fosse (at SW: Wth of top 5m; Wth of base 2.8m; ext. D 1.6m) from an outer flat-topped bank (at SW: Wth of base 7m; Wth of top 4.4m; ext. H 0.6m) S-W, but the inner bank is reduced to a slight feature (at NE: Wth 2m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.4m) NW-E-S and the outer features do not survive elsewhere. A small house site (ext. dims 5m NW-SE; 4m NE-SW) defined by small earthen bank (Wth 1m; H 0.7-0.8m) abuts the outside of the outer bank at SW. H 1.2-1.3m). H 0.9-1.3m) with some bushes that is reduced to a scarp (at NE: Wth 3m; H 0.7m) over much of the perimeter. There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance. The monument is overlain by a NW-SE field bank towards the perimeter at SW.
