Situated on the spine and the N-facing slope of a N-S drumlin ridge. This is a circular area (int. diam. 40m E-W; 36m N-S) that slopes down slightly to the E. It is defined by an overgrown earthen bank (at SSW: Wth of base 5m; Wth of top 1.1m; int. H 1.1m; ext. H 3m), with an outer fosse (at SW: Wth of top 10.5m; Wth of base 4.5m; ext. D 1m) and traces of an outer bank (at SW: Wth of base 4m; ext. H 0.4m) visible only SW-NNW. The entrance (Wth of base 3m), now closed, is at ENE. A N-S road to the W circumscribes the rath W-N by a wide margin but also avoids a rectangular area (dims c. 45m NE-SW; c. 45m NW-SE) to the S, which may have been attached as an annexe at one time.
