Not visible at ground level. Described by Davies (1942) as a conical shaped mound (H 3ft) enclosed by an inner fosse (Wth 6ft) and external bank (H 2ft). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). On an esker ridge in undulating countryside. Hollow depression (5.5m E-W x 6m N-S) enclosed by a bank (Wth 1.5m; int. H 0.3m) of earth and stone construction. Overall the site measures 10m N-S. The hollow depression has a very even surface which indicates possible habitation site. Situated on an esker ridge in undulating countryside with extensive views in all directions. Poorly preserved ringfort consisting of a circular area (30m E-W; 27m N-S) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 1m; ext. H 0.5m) with clear evidence of stone revetment in its construction. Possible remains of a causewayed entrance at NW. There is slight evidence for an enclosing fosse and external bank however its poor condition makes it difficult to be certain. Originally the site would appear to be a bivallate ringfort with a causeway entrance at NW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). No surface remains of any mass rock in the area marked on the OS 6-inch map. Described as a mass-rock by Davies in 1942 who describes 'in a small valley. The rock is either a rock outcrop or a large limestone boulder, and beside it are pile some other stones. I do not think that it is an old megalith. On S, is a small recess in the rock, and on W is a ledge. On the rock grows a crabapple' (ITA Survey 1942). A parcel is the land of a title, not an address. The owner's name is in the Land Registry of Tailte Éireann: a copy of the folio can be ordered on landdirect.ie, for a fee; this site names no owner. A price is the price recorded for a past sale, not a valuation.
